I found out today that my nephew who has been using e lites for nearly a year has started smoking again. What has caused this I don't know as the last time I saw him in June he said he was down to about two cartomisers a month now it appears he's smoking 75grms of tobacco a week, very dissapointing. Awww Dave, it's not your fault. It's a pity though that if your nephew found that the Elites weren't working for him, he didn't say something as there are so many options that might have suited him better. Maybe he'll come back to Vaping though.

After all that time, what a shame! Tell him he stinks and he'll never pull a decent bird

There are some people who just can't get away with vaping for one reason or the other.

What a shame. But like Perpy said, he might give it another go some time, perhaps it was peer pressure if he's young. My OH gave up smoking cold turkey for 3 years, that's a helluva long time, but started again. Not a lot we can do about it unfortunately, it's their personal choice, even though a disappointing one for our concerns about their future health.

Who knows, but at least he tried, which means he wants to give up,finding those all important moments in life are not always easy, smoking is an old friend sometimes when your not at your best, when he is ready to try again he will have seen how well you are doing,he will see how good your equipment is compared to what he was using,so don't feel down, when he is ready you will be well placed to show him the way

He did well to stick to e lites for a yr, if he can do that, I am sure, that when he is ready to give vaping another go, that with the knowledge you have, a better set up will hopefully meet his needs.

I hope it is just a blip for your nephew, Dave. Did you ever try to get him to try a better e-cig?

Yes Chrissie I did try and showed him what I was using, mainly the ego t then but I'm afraid he's the sort who just likes to screw on a cartomiser and go but will certainly try again when I see him. There are more addictive chemicals in cigarettes than just nicotine and it does take some willpower to give them all up except the nicotine.
The majority of people who stop smoking, go back onto them within two years, so changing over to vaping will have a number, although not as many, who also go back to smoking.
But, having given e-cigs a fair go, I do feel certain that your nephew will eventually give vaping another go. Afterall, smokers cannot improve their health, only make it worse. In time he may come back to vaping through necessity rather than choice.

Dave, your nephew could use pre-filled caros on a riva/ego I hope it is just a blip. It's difficult to talk to younger people about smoking causing long term health problems as most young people either think it will not happen to them or that they still have plenty time to give up
