Recoiling Visions and Vivi Nova's coil heads

Thanks all for the encouragement, especially Des and madcats for the pictures and to those that gave a possible solution.
Well I have now realise that I am a eejit.
Ok how do I explain, Well I purchased a vamo kit with two chinese nova clones and I also purchased a original from Vape escape. The chinese clones have a smaller gap in the center post. I cannot do a rewicking job on the chinese clone but I have just tried it with the two spare heads that I got with the original nova from V.E and by using the multimeter, I am now getting readings of 2.5 and 2.9. Obviously I was getting the heads mixed up by trying to get the reading of the original V.E head by sticking it on the clone base and using the vamo ohm reading, it won't even screw in properly. I think the solution of wicking a chinese nova would be to buy 0.15 as been mentioned by you great people, but I am just happy that I can now happily say I can wick an original nova.
Cheers for the tips of purchasing a magnifying glass and small clamps. done the trick, I will buy you all a virtual pint of your favourite tipple.

And I figured out how to take the double-coil X-heater apart to recoil it (just pull - need pliers. Wire the 2 coils in parallel). So all is good.

Yes, that is how I did it, one just a few mil clear of the other one and wound the legs together on each side, plenty of room to do that. They end up more or less the same size as a single wick, but they are in bunk beds

Edit.............should have mentioned, you probably need to trim the top latex rubber thingy to be sure it doesn`t strangle the wicks with it now being thicker

now talking about a double coiling im wondering if you could double coil two wicks together by going around one and back around the other , wonder what sort of ohms you would get with four wraps just wondering if this would be an easy way of doing a double coil ??? easier way of explaining is an s coil

You may be able to do that, but if I understand it correctly you are only going to have one wick and the two coils would outstrip the wicking performance, loads of dry hits I would think

I just used two vaporbreak pre made wicks and coils, nice long tails on them. So you end up with 4 tails, dont open the windows while vaping after doing this, you`ll get a localised fog warning on the weather news

What you would be doing is weaving two wicks together as long aslong the ohms is good, its got two work, mmm just thinking , i bet it would be one hell of a vape and a cheap way of doing it aswell.

Excellent thread and the double- pussy review made my day
Anyway, I now have a backlog of 10 VN heads which make it worthwhile to have a go
at rebuilding. That pre-coiled wick looks very attractive at that price, for a starting point, and later will use the totally diy method. I already have the benchtop microscop (Lidls for a fiver or so, a few years ago).
