You've made me realise something there about why I'm loving vaping. Don't judge me, and keep it to yourselves but a good few years back as a student I was partial to a fair bit of smoking the green stuff. Went off it a long long time ago and the feeling of being stoned couldn't appeal to me less nowadays, but the thing I always missed was the physical act of skinning up, and vaping prep is a similar thing. Also the social side to it all; don't have any real life vape buddies yet but could imagine spending an evening with friends at home with good music, good drinks and a selection of vapes.

Do you know what you just hit the nail on the head. I gave up the green plant stuff when i started vaping. and i feel that the flavours and setting up carts and attys etc is like skinning up also. Also the throat hit on the higher strength liquids is the same as a dooby doo.

Can't say I have the same history, was never a hippy (I was a skater with the baggy jeans and emo clothes) having said that I do love the down time of setting everything out and doing a clean and prep, it's oddly relaxing and satisfying when it's all done....feel like I should be prepping a gun barrel or something....I've seen movies where they time themselves taking one apart, cleaning and putting it all back together

The first time my mum saw me vaping, she thought I was a heroine addict and went mad! well, I did have some strange liquid bottles, a strange device with parts all over my desk, a syringe with liquid filled inside it and dirty black tissues from cleaning the device.

Got a lot of crap for that... I explained what it was, then she had a go about why i was still smoking! mums hey, always moan...

Ok, good things about vaping... being able to vape around my kids, not sure most would agree but dont see how the vapour can harm a 2 year old?

There are actually weed flavoured juices and in the States I believe some medical marijuana patients can now get their prescriptions in e-cigs that included the active ingredients of weed!

Best thing for me is that I've totally forgotten what it was like to be a smoker! It's been so long since I've had a cigarette that I can't even imagine it anymore and that is totally awesome because I never thought I'd be able to quit.

I love being able to tell people that no I don't have a lighter, no I don't have a smoke they can bum and yeah, that's fake smoke

To answer the question directly I suppose being able to vape in other people's houses, especially since I'm in the mountains of Scotland where it's always cold and rainy. Not having to go stand out in that is by far the best thing for me. I don't have to deal with trying to light a cig in the rain and wind either.

I have to agree, I do enjoy the prep side of vaping. I rolled my own cigarettes for years and it would feel like something is missing if I didn't get to fiddle with my ecigs and parts to get them the way I want them.

Never did the 'green' thing although I was a teenager in the '60s, perhaps I wasn't there! ???

The best thing about vaping, to me, is that I don't feel that I have given up anything from smoking, which I enjoyed for 50+ years. However, I now get far more enjoyment from the different flavours, I know I'm not damaging my health anymore, my bank balance is saying 'thank you', and I've found a whole new family of like minded people on this forum.

One of the best things for me (I have quite literally just this second realised this because its what I'm doing now) is laying in bed vaping. Never smoked in bed, was always too scared I'd fall asleep and set fire to myself lol.

I love trying out all different flavours and then going back to my favourite. I love the people on this forum and how helpful and accommodating everyone is. I love being able to vape anywhere, especially in bed, I love not having to go outside everytime I want to vape. I love the fact fy asthma is ten times better and I have not had a single attack this year (normally do when the weather changes and considering how much that's happened this year that's pretty incredible for me. But most of all I love VAPEMAIL!!!

I would say no disgusting brown tar to have to wash off curtains, nets, paintwork, windows and walls, etc., but can't as OH still smokes in the house.
Same goes for cleaning up bits of rolling baccy and fag ash all over the place including the dining room table. It's embarrassing when we get unexpected visitors. If I don't clean it up, it either stays there or gets scraped off the tablecloth and on to the carpet.

Thing is, (and no offence to the men) people automatically blame the women in the house if one lives there and it's in a mess.

My Dad still smokes a pipe, inside . . . off to visit today, it'll be interesting to see how many more burn holes there are in the carpets and on the furniture.

I love all the different flavours(i used to smoke flavoured pipe baccy in roll ups)and having a nice shiny mod to vape with is a conversation starter.I certainly dont miss the smell or the hacking cough!
