Hello everyone. It's that time again when me and the other half are talking about quitting the evil weed. We have both tried the usual NRT with no success and as we are talking about trying for our first child there's even more reason to sack it off. Totally by chance I had a few drags off a Nicolites E-Cig and was surprised at just how good it was. The throat hit, the sensation of smoking a real cig and the visual effects was for me an excellent alternative to slowly killing myself! The only problem I have with the Nicolites is the cost of the cartridges and availability around this neck of the woods. Anyway, without waffling on all day what I'm hoping you people can help me with is the most cost effective way to start using E-cigs whether that be with the carts system or liquid. Much thanks

Hi Dusty (and your OH) and welcome The initial outlay is the biggest thing and obviously finding an eliquid you both like then it can become quite cheap as long as you don't get caught up in wanting all the latest new products. A good starter kit can be bought from many of the Vendors on these boards. What would you like? Something that looks like a real cig or if you don't mind it not looking like one, you will get a much better proforming ecig with a bigger and stronger battery.

Hi Sandra. I probably need an early morning slap to be honest, should have checked some posts before posting Anyway, to be honest I'm not that concerned about the look although my lady would like a ciggy looking E-Cig. Unfortunately we are not in a position to be buying all the latest flash products (money and all) so just something that works and able to take juice/carts that are reasonably priced and taste authentic would be fantastic. I'll have a mooch about here and see what's about and recommended. Hopefully I can find a stockist that takes... (through gritted teeth) Paypal.. Nice to see someone from Wales about. Initially I thought this was a US site..

Hello & welcome Dusty We are a UK based site, though we do have a few members in other parts of the world If you don't mind an e-cig being bigger than a real cig, then a Riva or EGo (more cigar shaped) would be an excellent kit to go for. I'll have a look to see if I can find the best offers for you for both a Riva/ego & a ciggie lookalike for your OH. BTW, all of the UK vendors on the list of vendors take Paypal allaboute-cigarettes.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=suppliers&thread=2&page=1#2

Hi Dusty, and welcome! I've been vaping for about a month, and have discovered that actually flavoured juices that purport to be similar to tobacco taste just don't cut the mustard with me. I have a sweet-tooth and prefer caramel/vanilla/menthol flavours although RY4 (the Marmite of the vaping world) is very pleasant too. I use Vision replaceable Clearomisers www.vapeescape.co.uk/vision-ego-rainbow-v3-rebuildable~388 and eGo-T batteries www.vapeescape.co.uk/joyetech-ego-c-1000mah-upgrade-battery~316You may want to have a nose around some of the internet suppliers as you can get starter kits with these items and a USB charger which work out a bit cheaper as a set. Of course there will be others posting here who will recommend other starter kits - that's the great thing about vaping, there are 101 ways to kick to analogues! Best of luck, and do ask away if you have any questions! Andy

Those are good value kits linked above I am not sure but think you can get a slight discount on them by using the discount code Ecr69

Ah Sandra, I did wonder if the discount code I posted was still valid?
Edit -Brian kindly checked & our AAEC discount code is no longer valid but the ECR69 works. So I've edited my earlier post.

Ensure you buy 510 fitting devices.
That is the standard fitting, so both your kits will be inter-changeable.
You will also need an atomiser. This is for an easy cheap way of trying out different e-liquids. Whoever you decide to buy your kits from, will sell atomisers (attys). Will probably need a drip tip too, again, they will be readily available, and relatively cheap.

if you're trying for a kid tho, mummy should consider quitting all nicotine for pregnancy.

If she does want to vape during pregnacy, she must be careful not to spill e-liquids on her skin. Or wash it off straight away. better safe than sorry

Sorry, but if gets pregnant she needs to give up nicotine altogether if at all possible. Even nic patches and gum are not recommended. Could try vaping 0%, then at least she'd get the hand-and mouth thing.
