Well, at least VH gennys are cheap to replace And I've not seen the silica tube for sale anywhere else. I've asked Callum if he's going to start stocking it.

A massive tip I got today from Gary at the NEESUP is to fill up through the wick. My needle fitted and filled it up no messing. Saves loosing the minute screw.

Well . . . Max is a Genesis doddle. Filled mine up with Kev's Finest Butterscotch via the mesh wick, easy peasy, it's vaping like a train . . . loadsa vapour & tasty flavour, I've gone through a tank full in a very short time. Love it, my only teeny weeny negative is that the draw is a little on the tight side for me, if you were handy with a drilly thing ( I'm not ) then you could sort that in a thrice. But, it's not stopping my enjoyment at all. A couple of pictures for our Brian.

An update on external wick tube. Most of you will probably already have a good supply of it, but just don't realise it.
The inner silica tube from a dead carto !
A 2mm SS wick fits inside the tube perfectly and you can trim it off to where you want it.
(Credit where it's due.. actually first proposed by macca in another place whilst I was thinking about it).

Picture, the silica tube from a carto on to a 2mm SS wick and mounted coil:- Technically, this also removes the need to oxidise the coil as well. The only reason to oxidise it was to make in non-conductive, but the silica tube now takes care of that issue. (But you might want to still burn off any manufacturing residues).

Just pulled three caro's apart and all I had was rubber and cotton mesh type stuff, is that the same?

There should be a silica tube that runs down the centre of the carto....so I'm not quite sure what it is you are pulling apart, tbh.

Its the cotton mesh that runs down the middle, you can unravel it, I am presuming it must be the same thing.

I have no cotton mesh in any carto I have bought. Its always a silica mesh tube.
Test. Put a lighter to it. If it burns away it's cotton. If it first goes black and then glows red, it's a silica tube.
When it's cooled squish it with your fingers. All the black comes off and you are back where you started.
