Pulled apart a deaded Kanger carto Sandra, there's most certainly a central wick tube, although it looks a lot narrower than the diameter of the one that comes with Max.

Can you unravel it Perps?

No, it's quite firm Sandra . . . so it won't unravel, I'd have a job getting a mesh inside it.
I wonder which carto, if it's a Boge that Sej has taken his tube from?

The Kanger wick tube is exactly the stuff Sandra, just not wide enough . . . I don't do Boges, so I've not any to pull apart. Don't really want to have to buy some, just to wreck them.

I think the Maximus wick as supplied is wound quite wide.
The wick I used it on was for a DiD Mini. That is rolled to be 2mm

Oops Perp, see what happens when you sell all your stuff on classies lol Bugga eh Ellen. That'll learn me. Think I'd still have a job getting a mesh down inside the Kanger wick tube Sej, very narrow it is . . . being stretched over the end of a metal crochet hook right now. The things we do for vaping.

Yes, I think they could be "stretched" and widened a little if needed.

Where there's a will, there's a way Sej. It's reasonably loosely woven, so I'm hopeful . . . great spot by you and Macca, this could make Genesis coils a whole new ball game for many of us not so proficient in the art of oxidization.

Another little tip I stumbled upon when coiling my did, I always used liquorish papers for rolling my cigs when I smoked and I found that if you wrap a piece around the mesh at the point where it goes through the hole into the main tank and just leave it there you are guaranteed zero shorts from contact with the tank as the paper provides the insulation, so even if your oxidising isn't too clever you can still get great results. Coupled with the silicon sleeves mentions above you could make these genesis atties pretty much Jason fool proof

If you have any deaded dual coil tank cartos just pull it apart and you'll find bigger silica wick tubing inside.
Alternatively just roll the SS wick between your fingers and make it thinner. Slide your tube and then insert a thin screwdriver into the middle of the mesh wick through and through and twist the screwdriver back and forth opening it out..
