Just spent the last two hours reading this forum desperately looking for the solution to giving up the weed. I've been a smoker since I was 15 and for the last few years have started to worry about the long term effects of it and now am sick of standing out in the cold like a twit and feeling like an outcast in order to continue with my addiction. The trouble is I like it and to give up something you like as well as are addicted to is not easy, despite knowing that it is killing you off. The answer to all my dreams appears to be the e-cig After careful reading ( I so don't want this to fail ) I have just ordered the DSE901 from Totally Wicked with a couple of small bottles of juice to top up over the next couple of weeks. I ordered it in black as it looks soooo cool. All your posts look so encouraging I would like to keep popping back and letting you know how I get on and to see how everyone else is doing too. Here's hoping

Hello Christy and welcome to the forum. I smoked for 46 years and never thought that I would quit. I just wanted the e-cig to cut down on my smoking and save some money. Two months after I started "vaping", I stopped smoking. I couldn't stand the taste or smell of burning tobacco anymore. That was over a year ago and I don't miss it at all.
Good luck, Jerry

Well, Christy How self-contained and brave of you to read up on everything and make your own decision and go right ahead and buy it. I started smoking "full time" at 15 and continued for 50 years, ending up chain-smoking unfiltered rollies and killing myself, physically and psychologically, in no uncertain terms. Within 6 days of receiving my DSE901 (otherwise known as the Mini) I had my last cigarette - someone recently told me that was 800 days ago So you've got juice and some cartridges with stuffing in, which you will be able to rinse, pat dry, and reuse. But when our James (Paradise Vapes) gets back from his American busman's holiday towards the end of Jan you'll be able to buy some alternative stuffing, better, known as "blue foam", and maybe order some samples of his highly thought of juices Could you say exactly what you'll be getting - I mean, how many of this 'n that? We do want you to have enough to keep you going, for instance when you're charging a battery or if an atty (atomiser) fails. Nearly all e-cig hardware is Chinese made, and quite honestly it could be more reliable. But we love it anyway because it's disenslaved (!) us scylla

Hi Jerry Thanks for your welcome to the forum. I must say you all seem so friendly and I think I will be a regular to this site. Your reply is so inspiring that I can't wait to start vaping and so look forward to receiving my e-cig and stopping the 'analogues'. I feel the people here will help enormously. I feel quite excited about it all!! Thank you

You will get a lot of help here, Christy. The members here are a great group of people. Don't feel that you have to rush, quitting the analogs, do it at your own pace.

Hi Scylla Thank you too for your welcome to the group. I ordered the starter kit which I think has two batteries plus an extra atomiser and two 10ml bottles of juice. I had looked on James site as recommended by lots of people and saw he was away until the end of January and thought that I might have enough to last till then....maybe not?

If you can possibly get a few more atties it would be wise - they can fail at any time, or become weak. I hate being alarmist when you're just starting out, but we have to face facts. The most economical way to go might be another starter kit. See what other members have to say tomorrow Soon our Perpetua (Perpy) is going to place a bulk order direct with a good Chinese seller, by that time you may know how you want to proceed - whether you'd like a "stronger" e-cig or just more spares for the one you have. Perpeeeeeee!!! See what I've done? It just came automatically to me scylla x

Hi Christy,
I've been vaping for 3 days, 2 days without any cigs. Got the hang of it tonight. I was using the mouthpiece/cart without any foam in it. Much better with foam. Very satisfying and lovely that the place doesn't stink of cigs.

Hi Christy, A warm if a little belated welcome from me . . . can only second what all the lovely folk here have so far said . . . if you need any help whatsoever or have any questions just shout. As Scylla seamlessly said , I'll be doing a an order for the group from this supplier www.eastmall.net/ very shortly , I'll post a thread on the main board, giving everyone plenty of time to decide what goodies they'd like before placing our order. I hope anyone will feel able to participate, as they do have cracking prices not to be missed! You're doing ever so well Clutter, sorry none of us thought to tell you about the foam filler . . . if anyone does have a similar situation, a kit that the carts don't come with any filling . . . there's a couple of things you can use until James returns with replenished stocks of blue foam. Fluval - used for aquatic purposes Wadding/Toy filling - used in crafting An emptied tea bag, although this will go mushy after a short time, but it's a good stop gap if there's nothing else to hand.

Hello & welcome Christy We so hope you will keep popping back to let us know how you are getting on Clutter, ah it sounds like you where using the completely blank mouthpiece that comes attached to the atomisers, rather than the cartridges that come with a starter kit?

Hi again Thanks for all the advice, I think it's a good idea to order another starter kit so I have plenty of spares. Also when James gets back I'll get some of the blue foam. I'll see what the juices I ordered taste like when they come and maybe order another couple of bottles to last until then. I only smoke rollies (with tips)and don't like the taste at all of pre rolled ciggies so I don't want juice that tastes like them. Saying that I did order a bottle of Marlboro flavour....don't know why The flavoured ones sound nice, can anyone recommend any of their favourites.

Christy, most of my favorite e-juices are from suppliers who only ship to the US and Canada, but I can give you one word that is universally available...............VANILLA.

I did order a bottle of Marlboro flavour....don't know why You should be OK with it - when I started out it was one of the flavours often found in the cartridges I used to buy from eBay sellers and a common flavour in bottles - it's quite rich and sweet, I don't think you'll hate it. I bought some TW banana when it was selling cheap, to add to tobacco flavours - it works, though I'm not mad about it. My tasters have suffered very badly from decades of abuse But what I mean is, if you do get a juice you don't like, you can mix something else in to alter it. Cherry is loved by some, and caramel and toffee flavours. I've not ever been very adventurous except when I bought Parma Violet Nuff said! scylla
