All these suggestions will work well ewol - one main difference is the form factor, so it depends what you would feel most comfortable with and what you want to put on it. The other factor is whether you want a separate charger and batteries - once you have covered the upfront cost of this you have a very versatile setup that you can use for a range of battery sizes. A decent battery will last a long time and can be re-charged many times. I'd agree with karma though - I'd get a decent charger and batteries separately and just buy the body of the mod you want - it will cost you more but pay off in the long run.
If you decide to go for a Lavatube it might be worth checking the classifieds or putting a wanted post in them - they come up quite often.

Gripper sounds like it has better build quality, but then it is more expensive. It's a tough choice and it might be worth delaying for a couple of weeks until I get more savings in from not smoking.

I appreciate Karma's suggestion. Is there a specific brand of charger/batteries that you could perhaps suggest? At least if I get a good charger and batteries in the future if I so desire I will be able to get more mods for cheaper.

some 18650 batteries are slightly bigger than 65mm, so always check in the description of the ones you are buying

The other thing to check is whether your mod requires flat top batteries or those with a "nipple" or "pip"

The gripper is not much better quality than a lava tube to be fair, it does have a resistance metre but I can't really see why they cost more
Got my one very cheap, not sure I'd pay full price for one
The twist on the other hand I would buy again without much thought.

Might be worth looking at a tin mod. If money is important and you are reasonably good at that sort of thing, you could build it yourself.
