All advice welcome, be it how to start off, where to go, methods for problem times such as after meals or with a drink.
I really am walking into this blind so do not know quite what to expect, all I do know is the cough/cold I've had for the last 3 weeks shows me its time to action! Smoking has to be the first thing to go, I'm only 32 but run out of breath walking the shop or up and down stairs a few times and to be quite honest its making me miserable.
I've followed a link from the ebay board to get here, but its almost like trying to read a foreign language wading through the jargon of what + where to buy.
Is there any chance somebody could give me a link to a cheap but effective e-cig? I'd be extremely grateful.
I'll be back later on to try and properly digest all the information available.
Kind regards, Stella

Hello Stella & a warm welcome . . . thesedays we're almost spoilt for choice with ecigs.
Do you have any preference as to the appearance of your ecig?

Yes that's about the best deal going at the moment for a first class introduction to vaping. To that, I'd order a drip tip, always handy. And apply the discount code ECR69 for 15% off.

Hi Stella, I've been vaping for 2 weeks and found it better when I abandoned the fags and vaped only. If you're joined at the loin to your pc or lappy buy a 'passthrough' in addition to whichever starter kit you kick off with. A passthrough plugs into a usb port on your pc/lappy so will save on batteries on your kit. I recommend buying ejuices in 5ml bottles so you can try different flavours and strengths until you hit upon a favourite taste. I'm using the DSE901 automatics because I wasn't a heavy smoker and don't appear to have a nicotine withdrawal problem. The 510 which has been recommended to you will give you more suck for your buck if you'll excuse the erm...terminology Good luck and happy vaping

Welcome to the forum, Stella !!!!!
The 510 is a good choice to start with. Later on, you may want to try bigger battery models, as they don't need to be recharged as often as the 510 battery does.

Hi there Stella and welcome to our group We really do need to know how much and what you smoke! The Riva 510 recommended above is very popular with our members - but it doesn't look like a real cig, which many smokers do want when they're starting out. (It often doesn't take them long to want to graduate to a "mod" with a stronger, longer-lasting battery, which is what the Riva is.) The standard 510 recommended by Jerry is more like a cigarette - you can get that one at Liberty Flights as well. A good new supplier has a suitable model, a Classic 306, which should be slightly milder than the 510 and does look even more like a cig. I'll wait until you come back with more info. Hurry up! Can't wait to get you started scylla

Welcome! You've made the first step so lots of pats on the back for you! I've only been vaping for around 3 weeks or so and have been ciggy free since New Years Eve morning - can honestly say I haven't missed them much at all! I used to smoke 20 Marlboro Gold a day... now... nothing but vaping! On the subject of e-cigs - I was adamant that I wanted a ciggy look-a-like! Within a day or so, I ditched it and bought a 510. Now, at the nearly 3 week point, I'm finding that the standard 510 batteries are beginning to annoy me so I'm in the process of purchasing my first Mod! So, as you can see, your preferences can move on and change at a very rapid rate, The Riva mentioned above has larger batteries so will need recharging less often (always keep a charged spare battery handy!). Like almost everyone, I find that I vape more than I used to smoke so good batteries (and spares) are very important! Good luck, you'll get nothing but encouragement and friendly, sound advice here. HTH... Sean

You were the one I was thinking of, Sean, with the Classic 306 from VapeKandy to start with, moving on quickly to the Riva 510. Thanks for chipping in with your experience as a fairly new vaper, it's invaluable scylla

I smoked for 35 years and thought I would never give - until I bought a Tornado (after reading this forum).
Within a week I was down from 20+, to less than 10 a day, after 2 weeks I stopped completely, and have not smoked since September 7th.
And virtually no withdrawal symptoms.
The good news is, at your age, if you pack up now, its very unlikely that you will have any health issues in the future from smoking.
Edit to add: - and you will also be richer !

As Stan has pointed out, if you crack it at your age, Tracey, you have a very bright future (barring accidents ) scylla

Well done so far. If you can sort out your needs - with the aid of people here - you will be on a brilliant mission to support you in dispensing with the carcinogens, and possibly finding something equally satisfying, but not as life-threatening - and no where as close to costing you what 'fags' do. Wishing you luck hunnie.

Hi Stella and welcome, so glad you've moved over the the healthier 'smoke.'
I was a 40 roll up a day, and had smoked for 36 years. Now in my 7th month of being an ecigger and for the most part, love it. I've not wanted a real ciggy since I had my first vape.
All the very best of luck x x x
