Just wondering why people prefer certain e-cig related things to others.
Why do people prefer pg based juices/vg based juices?
I have really only used 100% vg juices & am interested in knowing why others prefer pg juices as I fancy giving them a whirl for a change.

For one thing, not related to personal taste, PG has a higher burning point than VG so might be marginally safer. VG has been found to produce nasties more readily if "over-burnt". But I haven't read about it for yonks, it's just something that sticks in my mind. PG is less viscous than VG and gives more hit. VG gives more vapour 'n less hit. Some are allergic or sensitive to one or the other, some can vape both with no probs. That's all I can think of for now scylla

:)As Scylla says.PG gives a better throat hit and VG more vapour.I am partial to a 50/50 mix when i want the best of both worlds.

I didn't mention Polyethylene Glycol (PEG), which is less sweet than either PG or VG, IMO. Toby at iVapour-Elixir sells juices based on it and I notice that he's increased the bottle size at last - but it's still a lot dearer than PG/VG juices we can get. A very limited range, too www.ivapour-elixir.co.uk/peg-liquid/peg-liquid.htmlI'm wondering about asking that eBay seller of lab chemistry stuff if they could supply it (the place where I got my PG). scylla

Never tried PEG.Is it any good Scylla?Does it give a better throat hit than PG??One thing i have noticed when using a pure PG mix is that it dries my mouth and throat very quickly.VG is ok apart from lack of throat hit.I think i will have to get a PEG based juice and give it a whirl soon. Thanks Scylla, that is somat i aint tried yet, gotta be worth a try.

Never attempted to mix my own juice & flavouring before mainly cause I haven't got a clue what I'm doing.
However, I read somewhere on this forum recently (I think it was Chrissie) who mentioned they were cutting down on nic strength. I'm seriously considering this as I think my nitemares are possibly due to vaping at such a high strength all the time.
Can anyone provide an idiots guide to mixing/cutting whatever it's called please.

Hissie,if you wanna cut the nic level down you could use PG or VG to do it.I personally buy glycerine from the baking isle in Asda or Tesco and find it works well.I usually do vape 36mg,but on occassions i do a half and half mix of glycerine and 36mg unflavoured nic liquid, then add flavouring.I usually add two drops per ml for a nice flavour. In doing this you have now got 18mg juice and it really does stretch your juice. It is good if you are skint or for me,i do it if i am feeling a little under the weather.Obviously, you can cut it alot lower by adding more glycerine to dilute the nic.

You might want to add a few drops of vodka or distilled water to the mix Hissie, if it seems a little gloopy.

No worries Ian . . . . if Hissies uses a mainly PG mix it probably won't be necessary, but if it's VG heavy it may well need cutting a smidge.

Horrendous is good, if you know what I mean Hope your nightmares go away very soon {{{Hissie}}} My gran used to say 'don't eat cheese before bed' but I think that's an old wives' tale Strangely, you've made me realise that I'm not dreaming nearly as much these days ??? Nearly all my dreams were nightmares, so that's good scylla

ckc, I use different flavours throughout the day, but I have been vaping high nic pretty much all the time. So I don't think it's the flavour, if anything I maybe need to cut down nic strength on a evening.
It could also be related to my medication, since I can't actually pin point when the nightmares started. They ain't nice tho', infact quite realistic at times. So I've been suffering with disturbed sleep & am trying to work out whether it's just me or something else causing them.
