Vaping and workplaces

I've just had the strangest day. Went in like normal explained I've given up smoking and converted to vaping. Laid it on a little thick about how vaping is allowed anywhere and just left that with my manager to think about. At lunch I went outside my manager appeared and said I might as well use that inside. so the afternoon has been spent with my manager sitting in the office with me vaping away. They even like the smell. the amount of times they have mentioned how they hate smoking I think they're just happy I've stopped. Although my liquid consumption will be quite high for today (and possibly the rest of the week)

How have other members been affected, are you allowed to vape at work?

I don't vape while I'm running groups with the public but do vape in the work offices

Have been allowed to vape indoors when on a few courses/at meetings as well

I'm on the till at Co Op, so whilst im allowed to smoke out the back, my boss has made it clear that he wouldn't be impressed if I was merrily vaping away whilst serving. Not that I would anyway, sooooo not worth having to converse with customers when they ask what it is im doing

So I tend to stealth vape inbetween customers when they're not around.

It was the opposite for me. I ask the HR lady who in turn asked the MD (there's only about 55 people in our, quite large building/company). They basically said I had to continue to go outside to vape. They did give me reasons but, considering the fact they don't really like people going out for ciggies, they could could be encouraging e cigs, to their advantage as well as the smokers. There are only 7 smokers in the company. two upstairs in the offices and 5 dotted around the massive workshop areas . There wouldn't have been clouds of vapour everywhere lol.

i have the best bosses in the world and they allow me to vape in the office but it is a really small business and theres only 3 of us in total. I no longer have to brave this freezing weather

my bosses have been ok with it but just recently they have been asking how much time i spend vaping at work , i just tell them i only have the odd puff whenever i feel the need but i think they know im lying

My boss has been great. I vape quite happily at my desk. I must say I was suprised though because I work for the civil service and thought they would be really stuffy about it.

They all say they are really proud of me for giving up my 25 stinkies a day!!

I only work for a small company and there are only 5 in the offices, i never asked i just vaped and said i am allowed as its not smoke, the boss comes in and has a go on my Riva most days, he used to smoke so i think he quite enjoys it

I am allowed to vape more or less anywhere I like, and anytime..except when I have to go to clients. But then, I have a very understanding and reasonable boss: me.

I'm a delivery driver delivering flammable goods to shops so smoking in works van is a big no no. Vaping on the other hand is fine, I get the thumbs up from my boss and managing directors, some of the smokers just think I'm weird but I managed to convert 1 of them to vaping.
(I'm still working on the rest of the smokers) lol

Smoke Shelter for me, although when I first tried vaping a few years ago the Personel Manager said I could use the cloakroom !
I haven't bothered asking this time as it's a different manager.

I can't really vape at work - I'm a teacher!! It does mean I can vape in my (lease) car however, which is a bonus driving between schools, so that's a bonus

Smoking shed of course, how else could I spread the message to other smokers I work for a company that employs 440 people in my building alone though, so I don't know nearly everyone there, and it seems like almost every day somebody I haven't met sits down, points to my LT and Vivi and says "what the hell is that?"

when organising events however............ I do ask the venue owners beforehand if its okay to vape on their premises.......... usually they are pretty cool about it......... but some have been quite the PITA trying to say its still smoking............. *sigh*

This is what I was expecting when I went in. Not being able to differentiate between the two but it went completely the other direction very quickly. Sure makes vaping the easy choice though saving a lot of time out in the cold this winter.
