Hello everyone, my new e-cig arrived this morning ( thanks Perpy) and I have a few questions, as you do. How long do I have to charge a new battery for? they're DSE901 BTW, should I leave them for 8 hours or are they good to go once the charger light turns green? I have many questions but I'll just ask as and when I get to a particular issue, that way it'll sink into my thick head.

Lo TP! Well thrilled this got to you so quickly . . . have to say I do always leave any new batteries I use for the full 8 hour charge when they're brand new, even if the charger light has turned green . . . there after it's a much shorter charging time for many batteries. It's a battery thing I think, although being completely hopeless in the techno department, my answer may be a bit lacking . . . but isn't it something to do with a battery's 'memory' bit like with a mobile phone battery. I could be completely wrong of course. It's always worth have a second battery charged up and ready to use with any ecig model as there's nothing more frustrating than being caught without one good to go. Please do ask any questions you may have as and when they come along . . . . we all been there at some point in our vaping journeys.

Hiya perpy,
that was lightning fast delivery eh? I was chuffed to little mintballs when it came this AM, it's a nice looking gizmo too, I like it's metaly look, makes it look a bit more masculine I think.
My batteries will be fully charged in about an hour, can I ask, do you leave your batteries on charge all the time or do you disconnect once theyre cooked? ???

Perpy e-cig batteries don't have any sort of memory (bit like me ) so very different from other rechargeable batteries like mobile phones TP, IMHO I think it's best to remove the battery from the charger as soon as the light turns green. As soon as the light does turn green the charger should stop charging.

You're as bad as me, Lisa TP - it's cruelty to vapers not to give them a blow by blow (or puff by puff) account of first steps, so please get your btm back in here pronto > scylla

OK, my first impressions, I had an e-cig before and TBH it was somewhat disappointing, there wasn't much vapour and the thing tasted terrible. New cig was fired up at 1pm, my first surprise was the taste, slightly sweet and rather pleasant ( this is with the carts supplied), there's a good amount of vapour and the inhale, exhale experience is similar to smoking real fags. I have a slight aftertaste when smoking the e-cig, again it's not unpleasant, I don't think if a smoker went from analogues to one of these they'd suffer any of the withdrawal symptoms associated with cold turky abstinance. One very slight gripe I have is the weight of the unit, this is only a problem when driving for me as I usually have a rollie in the corner of my gob. I've used one cart and am now on the second of the day, I've no idea how much juice it takes to load a cart but it looks like I have enough here for a couple of weeks at least. Once I've smoked all my real baccy I'm seriously gonna try to stick to this, thanks to all for your help and advice, I'm sure I'll be back with more questions soon.

Well done so far TP Honestly, you will get used to the weight difference Amount of juice you need to add to a cart depends on how dry it has got, just keep dripping till it pools & then add a couple of drops into the atomiser as well And please don't hesitate coming back with more questions, we can help everyone get the best out of e-cigs, they do sometimes need a bit of tweaking

Sounds like you're doing really well TP, even if you mixed rollies with the ecig until your baccy stocks have gone it wouldn't do any harm, I'm thinking. Believe it or not, you will soon get used to the weight of an ecig . . . one of my favourite at home ecigs is a Silver Bullet . . . with an 18650 battery it weighs 168 grams, in all honesty I barely notice the weight of it now.

I'm sure I'll get used to the weight Peppy, it's just a matter of adjusting the way hold the cig.
So I just blob a couple of drops of juice in the business end of the atomiser then?
Does that give more vapour or more nicotine?

TP, mainly top up with juice by adding it to the cartridge (mouthpiece) but by adding a couple of drops into the cartridge end of the atomiser will give you more vapour - not too much though or you will flood it.
No it won't give you more nicotine, the only way to get that is by using a higher strength juice (e-liquid).

You will I'm sure TP . . it is a slightly different technique using an ecig as opposed to smoking a ciggie, but you'll find what suits you in no time.
The ejuice that you top your carts up with contains the nicotine, it also produces the vapour when it comes into the heated coil of the atomiser . . . so adding juice to your carts will supply more of both, although only at the nicotine strength of that juice.
Just keep the filling material that's in the carts moist but not soaked with ejuice and you'll be fine . . you'll soon know when it does need topping up as you won't get much vapour or taste when you vape.
Here's a review TP of the DSE901 that you may find helpful.
