Just purchased new ego mod from Vape ****** i am a bit naive in the workings of these advanced vapers - been using ego t batteries with variation of atomisers lately aquired Vivi nova and vivi mini that i am delighted with . Do have a screwdriver but it is temperamental in working even though i have changed switch buttons . My question is with ego mod what is the difference between volts and watts in use and what is the relevance of the ohms readout ? the current one reads 2 ohms iam using it at present as shortened version as i had a stock of smaller batteries i used with screwdriver.

the resistance reading function is there so you can test the resistance (ohms) of the atty you have attached... the reason attys have different resistances is to give you differing heats generated by the atty for a given voltage
lower resistance attys are hotter than higher resistance attys
additionally with this device you can adjust the voltage up and down which makes the atty hotter with a higher voltage and not so hot with a lower voltage... the reason for this is so you can tailor the heat to get the best flavour / vapour production for a given atty / juice
what you will find tho is if you use a different atty with a different resistance on top then you will more than likely have to adjust the voltage again to suit
however if you set the device to variable wattage you can set the wattage you like and then if you swap attys with different resistance the device will read the resistance and recalculate what voltage it needs to give you exactly the same wattage

Thanks Gordy i am sure after reading it another dozen times i will have a better understanding - great explanation but my advancing years means info is hard to retain . And yes i am loving the new machine - think the batteries may need replacing for stronger newer and even the larger variant - the two i am using have had quite a bit of use in my screwdriver .Where is the best place to aquire the said batteries and what power is best because again the choice (ebay) is mind boggling think i saw them up to 4000mah

Hi I'm by no means an expert, in fact still waiting for my first mod, but I think the 4000mah batteries might be physically too big to fit in your mod. If by large battery you mean an 18650 then 2250mah is usually the biggest physically that you can use, but I don't know what your mod is. You might find this thread useful, & I'm sure someone with more knowledge then me will be along to advise. allaboute-cigarettes.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=shopping&action=display&thread=12832&page=1

as far as i know this ego vv/vw mod think its called a Vamo can take 18350s and 18650s with extension tube added.Thought it had gone faulty earlier after only one days use kept turning itself off - changed battery same again - just by chance i had 2 brand new 18350s tried one and hey presto it worked ok .Thing is i put the 2 batteries that were causing it to switch off on battery tester and they both show full power. ??

They may show full on a meter (voltage) but under load they may not be able to supply enough current to run the Vamo properly. The Vamo has circuitry built in to shut it off to stop draining batteries too far as this can damage the batteries, but if a battery is failing it makes the Vamo think it's discharged and therefore switches off. I have a Vamo and am finding it a great mod, so much so that I have ordered another one. Investing in good batteries is money well spent get either AW's, Panasonic, Senbyor or Efest and they will serve you well. A ecig "canes" batteries and causes low quality batteries to die quickly. Also a good quality battery is safer.

Thinking of getting one of these myself! They are available in Chrome or Black Chrome so which one looks best in real life? Anybody got one or the other?

I've a Chrome and a Black Chrome on the way PD, so I'll take a photo of the two side by side, if no one else does.

Cheers Perps I worry that the Chrome might look a bit tacky and the Black chrome might be the best bet for me as I like the Black Chrome Silver Bullet I have.

I spoke to Jason this afternoon and he tells me the Black Chrome looks lovely so I will probably go for that, if I can sort out the one WORRYING PROBLEM! There's nowhere to attach a neck lanyard to it, without drilling it and I know I'd make a scuffy mess of that, and I need to wear it all day long whilst I am out of the house. Anybody have any ideas how to deal with that?
