i got got 10 sample carts various strength from simon plus there was 2 blanks on the atties with no mat inside. my problem is at least one cart has a wide draw hole and the rest have pin hole draw hole, with the wide one you seem to get a better draw on it,but occasionally you bet a belt of i assume nicotine (not very nice). which is the correct one to stick with,im guessing the pinhole type. ragjoy.......

Ragjoy, are you talking about the hole in the bottom end of the cart (the part you put in your mouth)?

well, having chewed my fav mouthpiece so much that the entire bottom part came out, i don't think it matters too much, Raggie, if you're getting liquid in your mouth, maybe you're putting a bit too much eliquid in there? Why not get some of the aquarium filter stuff like in Scylla's link and trying that, it seems to hold & wick the liquid better than the filler thats already in there...

One lot of carts I recently got, the end cap kept coming off in my mouth and it's tiny I can't help you with the backflow except to suggest, as Chrissie has, that there's a little too much liquid - maybe Fluval will help. That's another thing I liked about the cartomisers - no backflow They are not everyone's cuppa tea, but to rich vapers (or spendthrift paupers like me) I would say "buy an adapter or even a full kit and try them". scylla

OK I'm not going to be much help here as it's ages since I've had any carts with the wider slit (rather than the round hole in the base). I jut can't remember where the slit type atties come from.
Can anyone else help please?
The juice in your mouth may be due to the reason Lilac has given but it can also be due to an attie not working as it should, a battery not at full charge, or your dragging technique. The attie needs to heat up, so with manual batteries you need to take an initial short drag to help to heat it up.

it looks like its just one of the carts that has a slit 7mmx3mm. the others are just like a large pinhole. ragjoy.........

If you don't have to use the slitty one, I'd stick to the others. You should be able to transfer over the stuffing. If you do have to use the slitty one, "softer" drags and holding the e-cig downwards should help. I think it was a slitty one that had the popping-off cap, which I should point out came off when I took the cart off the atomiser with my teeth for refilling. I nearly always use my teeth. I'm currently using a rounded cart on my passthru and a flattened one on my Screwdriver, both have pin-holes. scylla

As far as I remember the slit cart is a genuine DSE cart while the ones with pin holes are the generic copies.
The blank carts that come in the atties NEVER have any filling in them, they are there to protect the atomiser from getting dirt in it while in storage. That said these carts are really a snug fit and I always keep them incase I get a loose batch that keeps falling out .... I then simply take the filling from the loose carts and stick it in the snug fitting blanks.
Even with say 10 - 20 prefilled carts not every one will be a perfect fit so unless they are completely caput dont throw your used ones away - keep them for emergancies.
I recently had 2 batches that were hell to use, they did not touch the bridge on the atomiser and this caused poor vapour and intermittent hit - one moment firing on all cylanders the next weedy vapour no throat hit and me pulling my hair out.
The actual gauze was cut short and shifted up in the cart while vaping just a very small say 0.05cm difference and not easy to notice but eventually after I had blamed and tested everything else I realised it was the carts.

Raggie, I think you have hit the jackpot - getting 3 different types in just 10 carts Some of us have waited months to achieve that

Coincidentally both the empty carts that came with my replacement atomizers this morning, have pinholes and are slightly thicker in diameter than the 'slot' types I'm used to. I filled the blanks with fluval and they are brilliant. I much prefer the pinhole to the slot style - no mouthful of juice! Fox

See? E-cigs are wonderful - if only they were controlled at source and it wasn't hit 'n miss as to what standard of components we get scylla
