I've no idea but my guess would be that ejuice would maybe give the highest dose taken as you describe. The patches are time-released so I'm just guesstimating! When I was on the highest dose patches I also smoked more than just the occasional cigarette; my brain 'needed' the throat hit and sight of smoke!! Another reason why 'vaping' is such a boon to me as I've now been well over a month smoke-free, the longest time ever.

According to the table 1 ml x 24 mg of liquid = the same as 1x 24 mg patch, so you would put no more than 0.25 ml x 4 cartridges to ge the same amount. ( I think)

Glad to hear that, Raggie If you get on with the VG you can use that to gradually cut down on your nicotine. And you could buy flavours to add if the juice gets too bland - LorAnn concentrated food flavourings are sold on eBay and by Totally Wicked, and www.flavourart.it do their own, and they do ones specially for vapers and now they do e-cig nicotine juice too Then there are the Decadent Vapours ones available from TW. Lots of adventures in store scylla

I would say the vape.Having tried the 24mg patches for 3 months, I was always 'on edge' and it was a real battle to keep off the fags, but since vaping I don't have any urges to smoke fags, I am totally relaxed, no twitches, withdrawal symptoms, I don't vape above 18mg and am going to reduce that now.

I'm not so sure, with the patches there you are getting the full dose into your blood stream (all be it time released), with vaping I wonder how much nicotine is exhaled each time? I'm pretty sure that there will be nicotine that hasn't been taken in by the body so I would say vaping puts less in to your system. Saying that, I'm no medical expert and someone may come back and say because of the way nicotine reacts in your lungs 100% is added to your bloodstream and all that is coming out on exhale is vapour.....

My two bits are patches didn't give me enough nicotine over the course of the day and the strongest patch still meant I was smoking 10 ciggies a day. When I didn't smoke on top of the patches I got horrific withdrawal (blurring vision being the worst to the point of near blindness). After a few weeks, and some tests, my doctor told me to just keep smoking and stopped the patches. Apparently because I am one of the "lucky" few that have a strong physical addiction to nicotine as well as the usual psychological addiction traits. I was also told if I ever wanted to fully quit it would not be a pleasant experience (think trainspotting cold turkey bit but a little less so). This was one of the things that contributed to me having a little mental breakdown, that's how bad nicotine withdrawal can get.
When I started vaping it was on 24mg/ml and even though I ended up using 10mls a day I didn't get the evil withdrawal like I done got with patches.

Lol, I was confuddled there when I read Foxy's post about (only) being a month smoke free, until I realised the thread was started over 2 years ago

Absorption rates atre completely different..I doubt you will get 24mg of Nicotine in your system by vaping 1 ml.
It's probably far far less, but no valid studies have been done yet.

But absorption rates from patches will be 100% because of the way they are administered? (this is what I was ineffectually trying t say above )

IMHO patches are a waste of time. The only way they could work is to stick them over your gob to stop you putting a cigarette in it.
