kurotoshiro have you got started on the wheel of time yet? I've had to take a break from it! Got to book 4 and had to stop for a while. Will be reading it again next week though! No, not yet, but I intend to have a go at that after GoT.

For anyone who likes a good vampire story, look out for J R Ward, The Black Dagger Brotherhood. I've just finished reading all 11 of them, really enjoyed them although reading them one after the other got a bit samey.
I've now invested in a Kindle so am just going through a few of the freebies, read a couple that are OK, 1 or two that just need deleting never to see the light of day again and some that I would imagine have been written by a two year old.

This may sound off the wall, but if you like good writing and game of thrones you should try Wolf Hall. Real history, not fantasy, but just as engrossing.

Maybe of interest to those of us who liked David Gemmell (now no longer with us, as are Robert Jordan and David Eddings), his wife Stella, who finished the 'Troy' series after his death, is has now written her first novel. www.fantasticfiction.co.uk/g/stella-gemmell/city.htm

Love this genre but haven't really got anything to add as most the stuff I have read.
Eddings, Feist, Hobb et all all cover my book shelves.
In fact not only here but feature heavily in the 8 boxes sitting around my sisters house in the UK...must either move home or get them shipped out to me lol

Jack Vance's Lyonesse novels are good. Not sure they are superbly well written though. Thanks for the nudge; I've been lacking in my re-reading of Jack Vance. A very quirky turn of phrase and sometimes very funny.

im not into readin books but me girlfriend just finished one called the left hand of god by paul hoffman. musta been good cos she didnt stop goin on about it for ages after. ill ask her what she recomends cos she loves books like that. personally i prefer haynes manuals the last four things is the next one of the left hand of god. i read the prince of thorns and the king of thorns. very much gruesome and fantasy. good reading !
