Hi, I have realised now that I want to 'go to the next level' with my obsession and have decided to invest in a vv. I don't have much cash to splash so am looking for some advice on what's best value for money on the budget range. I'm torn between a vamo, lava tube, Ego V1 or c twist... Anyone offer any good sound advice on any of these or any other top performing vv's?

Can't go wrong with a twist for starters into VV, the vamo is great but extra cost in buying batteries and a charger to suit. Most likely a twist will work with your existing ing kit if u have an ego/riva setup? I'd start with a twist for the cheapness, and if u like the VV experience you could look into getting a vamo. I'm relitevley new to vaping, I'm sure some more experienced members will be along shortly, but just putting my thoughts across. Hope what ever you decide is an enjoyable experience for you

Seconded with the suggestion of a Twist............... they are great for finding out whether you will like VV............ easy to use with your current Ego/Riva charger. There are some good bargains for Lava Tubes, Vamo's, etc about, but you have to remember that these mods will require separate batteries and a good charger......... the X-Tars are by far the best. I have a Twist, LT, Vamo & Provari but I prefer using my Twist for out and about I cant fault it

Yeah, the twist was the one that first enticed me in, after that I was like a kid in a sweet shop... Is the V1 a better chock than the C twist then?

It depends upon whether you want something small like a Twist, or whether you're prepared to carry around something that looks like a truncheon.
I don't think it's possible to dislike vv or vw, as it's it's so much easier to get what you want vapewise, so IMO the "to see if you like it" argument is moot. The Twist will however do a great job.
However, if you don't mind bigger mods then with the current price of things like the Vamo, CV1 and Zmax I'd be tempted to jump straight in and go for one of those instead.
Initial outlay is more, especially if you include the batteries and charger, but a decent charger will last years, which means you're only replacing the batteries in future, and at £6-£10 a pop it's cheaper than buying a new Twist at £18-£20.

Twist is great for trying out VV, it's ego compatible so will work with existing chargers and kit. I used a Twist for a month although I knew I loved VV vaping so I bought a Lavatube and it's in a different league from the Twist IMHO. But the Twist showed me that I wanted to VV and it's always there as a backup

The Twist is a good device, smallish and convenient. Its only drawback is that it doesn't last forever, although mine trucked on for a fair while. I've got a vamo, I think its an ugly beast, not too keen on it out and about, very bulky. Its good though, for an effective vape, works well, other than the spring which has been sorted on the newer models I believe. I use it a lot, probably more than anything else.

I have a mini LT. It's a good device but it doesn't last long on the batteries. (18350). I also have a Vision "Spinner" which I have to say is a superb bit of kit. However, Twists and Spinners do not last forever and some have met a premature demise. About 2 days after getting my Spinner, there were threads on this forum and UKV (?) about them packing in. I said "if my Spinner dies after just a few weeks, I'll be sending it back regardless of what the vendors write about 28 days and all that". 28 days? using 24/7 or using half the time? Anyway. It's done 3 months now, so for £8 a month, that's fine with me.
I'm not sure I'd buy another. It's the right size and "form" for my needs, so next time it'll be a Twist instead.
Let's face it, all these things are a slight gamble. A Lavatube could go on forever, but it's going to need new batteries eventually. A Vamo is kind of high tech, so we don't know long term. But even only budgeting £1 a day for your battery(s) means if you only got two months out of a posh VV VW device, then, hey, that's not bad.
Joyetech need to do a VW version of their tube/controller/battery mod. By splitting the device into 3 component parts, you can't go wrong. Maybe they do one already?

If it were me, knowing what I know now, I would go for the VAMO. When I moved on from my ego I got a Lavatube and was more than happy with it. But when the VAMO came up at £20 shipped I couldnt resist it. The Black Chrome one is the best of the non Stainless Steel ones, but the finish is excellent. There is not a scratch on it, no wear either. After the initial ones which seemed easily scratched they must have started baking the paint, varnish like car paint is. You can now get 3400mah batteries for about £6 each shipped if you are prepared to wait. A top rate charger like the Nitecore can be got for about £12, but it is a sound investment. It will charge Lion, NIMH and Nicads. On the Panasonic 3400mah, you will get two days plus on a full charge,. That is what I am getting now. It is a big mod. I have a VV ego for when I need something smaller when I go out and dont want to be arrested for carrying an offensive weapon and I always use the same atomizer on it.

@ Robby, is that the VAMO from china on the other thread? £20 shipped and buy batteries and a charger from the UK. I suppose there are hunners of places to get VAMO batteries and chargers from vendors on this forum... @ DJ, I was looking at a mini or maxi LT, how much are the batteries and a charger for them? I'm thinking about getting the Ego twist initially as my funds are low ATM but keep swithering due to the fact that for about another 10-15 quid I can get a bigger and better (are LT's and VAMO's really THAT (OMG) much better?) shiny.. Cheers C

Cheers C If you get a Twist for £20, then that's your battery. When it's run down, you have to recharge it, leaving you no battery. The alternative is that you buy another Twist to use while the other's charging, so that's another £20. When the battery on your Vamo is run down, you put another battery in it which has cost £8, whose life expectancy is much greater than a Twist and which you can use in other devices in future should you buy any.

When the battery on your Vamo is run down, you put another battery in it which has cost £8, whose life expectancy is much greater than a Twist and which you can use in other devices in future should you buy any. All these things are true, of course. I never worried about only having one Spinner, with 2 Rivas ready to go. (although that became 1 Riva after a disaster....) Batteries are far cheaper than whole one-piece egos/spinners/twists. Chargers are £10-15 (I wouldn't recommend the basic one, it works but if I was going again, I'd get the next one up.....) Batteries are £6-8 for 18350s (the small ones) and £8 upwards for 18650s. Just don't buy any old ones from ebay and double check (on here) about exact sizes for certain devices. So, initially, the costs are going to grow, but once you have a charger and a few batteries, you can start using LTs/Vamos/Z-max/CV1, whatever you fancy. Short-term a twist or spinner is OK and not too pricey. Long-term, unless you manage to break a posh VV/VW, that's got to be the way to go.

What about an argento? Britvapes have some with extra 25% off this weekend. I take it same rules apply with them, ie use same batteries and chargers as vamo and LT. Is this a good deal: www.britvapes.co.uk/product-p/bcal.htm
