Have just exchanged a few texts with Perps - she is about to start up a new Eastmall order. (((((Perpy )))))) I asked for standard atties, as in the last order I got some LRs. However, I have been noticing an increase in feeling 'chesty', with bouts of tightness, coughing gunk etc. I made the connection (possibly a wrong one) that it was the LRs causing it. Perps thinks it might be the VG juice. I know that someone else in the forum doesn't like VG - and was wondering if symptoms were the same? Just forgot who it was - sorry. Any thoughts folks?

VG can also be poorer to wick and clog up your atomisers more swiftly Hanow . . . but then again PG isn't for everyone . . . personally I like a bit of both in a mix, but with the emphasis on PG.
Am still inclined to think it's the VG that's making you chesty, rather than a LR atomiser if your juices are all VG . . . be interesting to see if anyone else has any similar experiences.

Perps - certainly worth a thought. I began vaping last June, and have pretty much stuck to the same juices from James. The only different ones from him (on top of my usual L and B) is the caramel and coffee flavours - which I love. I tend to make a micture up using all three. I became aware of this 'chesty/throat' thing a couple of months ago, after I had started using the LR atties. That's why I made the connection to those, rather than the juice. When Judy came down, she too had the chest-thing, and I think we put heads together and decided it was the atties, as she too had started using them for the first time. I recall when I first joined the forum that there was someone who specifically requested PG as they had adverse reaction to VG. I just can't remember who that was, nor what problems they had. :-[

PG based juices don't agree with me, not even the 50/50 mixes. They seem to make my throat all tingly & my asthma starts playing up.
I much prefer 100% VG juices as this tends to have less of this effect.
Also, regardless of whether the juice is PG or VG, some flavours can cause me problems as well. I bought a sample size of RY4 & I'm really struggling with it. I find it very drying and harsh on the throat and lungs.
Maybe look at what flavours you are using, they could be causing you problems.
* I dislike LR atties Hanow, I only buy reg 510s. However, I find the LR Tornado tanks great.

Hanow it's probably me that's been having a few problems with certain juices. I've done a little experiment, I absolutely love James's lemon and now he's sent me a sample of orange - totally yummy!
I've mixed some strong lemon with Glycerine to weaken it, no problems at all. I've mixed another lot with some lime flavouring and I'm coughing, it's burning the back of my throat and making me feel awful. I've come to the conclusion that it's not the juice I'm having issues with, rather certain flavourings.

Hissie and Dee - many thanks for that. But flavours!!!!!! Ooooooh Nooooooo - lubs my coffee and caramel. Funnily enough, I have a bad chesty reaction to apricot pot-pourri! Don't ask me why - it's only 'apricot'. Something in that makes me nauseous, as well as affecting my chest. I shall have to make a huge sacrifice and stop the coffee/caramel for a couple of weeks and see if that helps. > > Am going for a sulk >>>>>>>> Hissie, what's a tornado tank? Do I want one? But just occurred to me, Hissie and Dee - we are coming up to our 1 year anniversary soon. How good are we?

I hate VG and tend to use 100%PG in a mix these days.VG not only makes my chest bad but also throat hit is poor using 100%VG.If i do add VG its a 80/20 mix just to add a little vapour.I think VG is good for those who have an allergy to PG. I dont like the Tornado tanks at all, poor wicking.Only tank i use is the map tank, which is very good.Ive never had any reaction to flavourings but i have to pure VG mixes

hanow, i maybe the one who dont get on with vg. regarding getting chesty ive noticed quite a difference since only using PG, the small amount of chestiness i had has stopped and my erk hum back of throat is much better. you dont the clouds of vapour you get from VG but i assume you would probably get much less from a standard 901 though. there is not the sweetness you get from VG which for me can be sickly and affect flavours.

Yessssssssss, thanks, it was you, Raggy. Maybe I can ask James for some pure PG and give it a try. I definitely keep having a thick goo at the back of my throat, which takes ages to clear. I didn't notice anything like this for my first few months of vaping. In fact, was very aware of clearer tubes etc. I think I shall have to do a trial - eliminating one thing at a time. But thanks for all of the ideas everyone. Interesting what you have said about the tornado tank, Ian. One of our newbies - rivereast, is on the newbies' board asking about the tornado tank at the moment. Can anyone go and advise? I know nuffink abowt 'em! :-[

Hanow I love the Tornado tanks. However, I'd advise getting the LR version as it gives a better hit. The carts which you use with the tanks is ace aswell. I fill them up & can usually get a full days vape out of it, in fact, sometimes I'm changing the battery before the juice runs out I would recommend trying one & making your own mind up about them. They fit on Riva & tornado batts. Ian, what are these other tanks you speak of?

That's great Hiss. If you have a minute, can you go to the newbies board and give rivereast some advice. He/she has been vaping for three weeks, is thinking of getting a Tornado, and is asking about the tank.

I hate the TT.Standard attys are better than the LRs IMO.You hardly get any throat hit and flavour is like vaping cardboard. LRs are hardly any better for throat hit and still strip the flavour.I know its only my opinion but i had loads of these tank attys and sold them coz they were so rubbish. > Suppose its like marmite, you will love em or hate em.I would say either get some clearomisers or even better a map tank. It bugs me how crap the tanks wick, nowt to do with the atty its the tank cart thats at fault.Ive direct dripped a tank atty and its a much better vape but i hate dripping.Eastmalls seem worth a go though as it states "No burnt taste like the ones others supply"I am willing to try Eastmalls, will get a couple to try.

I have had the same as you with VG, Hanow, not gunky, but certainly the tight chest and a feeling of breathlessness...
Raggy & i have both mentioned it in here, i'm pretty sure the dehydration effects might have something to do with it, as i'm sure i noticed it lessened somewhat if i drink loads, i read threads on ECF at the time about similar experiences and someone reckoned it was to do with the lungs rather than actual chest pain, but i prefer to stay away from VG as much as possible anyway.
