Hi guys
After now collecting all my mixing kit, reading loads of tips tricks and pitfalls I was wondering if you need to wash / sterilise the bottles before you use them.
Have read that you need to give used bottles a good wash before re using them but can you mix straight into a brand new bottle or do you need to clean them too.
Don't want my first mixing session to be a dissaster due to a stupid mistake lol

Erm, yes I religously clean all of my bottles before use. pfft who am I kidding, I whack 'em in without thinking Note to brain, perhaps consider thinking first? Rather than actually completely waste this post: I re-use bottles from bought ones, mainly by cleaning them in hot water and leaving to drain.

Firrin, don't you get any taint from the last liquid in the bottles?

New ones I give a rinse through in some warm water, used ones I give a rinse through in some warm water . . . unless they've had a potent flavour in, then I keep them for the next time I mix that flavour Karma.
I'm not into making work for myself, on anything!

You must have a system then Perps to remember what flavours were in what bottles?
or, am I just over thinking things again?

Sticky labels can be very useful things Karma.

Not really, If it's a REALLY strong smelling juice I've tended not to re-use them (cinnamon hots for example). Although it works for most bottles I've tried and actually I'd even give the cinnamon hots bottle a go and try the sniff test before re-using.
My previous cleaning regime was a vodka rinse for around 20 mins then hot water but now I've replaced the vodka with hot water and a denture cleaning tablet for 20 mins then rinsing and drying as before.
I use Sainsbury's Basic Denture tablets (30 tablets for 75p).

Yes, I can understand that Firin, denture tablets are a lot cheaper than vodka I do find that vodka tastes better though

True, beyond adding to juice mixes I can think of at least one better use for voddy
