Looking to ditch the e-lite...but for what?

Me and my partner got a couple of E-lite 200 packs when the 50% offer was on. These were our first e-cigs and we were happy with them. I've resorted to refilling the cartomisers with liquid, but they seem very inconsistant. Sometimes i get a nice throat hit...other times i get a pathetic drag
I'e been reading around, and it seems i could save more money in the long run and be happier if i bought into another type and stopped using the e-lites.

I have been reading around but there're so many alternatives out now i'm really confused, i've heard the name eGo pop up a lot and i know i should be looking for 510 threads. I just don't want to make another mistake and get an ecig with a weak vape!

What should i be looking for other then thread type?

I would prefer a "cig" look-a-like as opposed to the other types and prefer to keep it under £20 as i would be getting 2 batteries...one for each of us!

I dont think you will get anything thats a ciggie look-a-like that will be reliable and worth spending out on. But if your willing to give another look a go, the Ego battery with the tanks. You cant go wrong with them.

Best way to look at it is, your there to stop smoking so stuff what others think of the look. PS: The ego is a fantastic device that is ideal for starting out with.

I think the elites have 510 connections. If so, you may be able to solve your problem by getting decent cartomisers - something like www.vapeescape.co.uk/boge-510-standard-resistance-%285%29~145 If your elites don't have 510 connections then yes, you will need batteries. Unless you and your partners are very light smokers indeed I'd have thought you would want a lot more than two batteries - what will you do while they are on charge? I'd have thought you'd be better off with four or five, and maybe two chargers.

The kit you point at looks cheap, but I don't know if their cartomisers are any better than elites. If you want to stick to cigarette-sized I'd look for a 510 kit with Boge cartomisers.

But everybody else is right - bigger batteries are better. They give better taste, go longer between charges and are cheaper in the long run as well, because they live longer.

If you go with the one from bomber's link, code AAEC20 will give you 20% discount! It has a 510 connection and is a lot more powerful than an e-lite!

You probably need more than 2 batteries between the 2 of you. If both need charged what will you use? and for both of you an extra charger would be handy too!

i started on e-lites and was under the impression the battery(s)/attachment are unique to e-lite, but not sure tbh. There is much better out there tho, but requires a slight leap of faith into non cig-look-a-like (sounds like you are on the right path by re filling them). Bigger batteries and better kit which will give better performance, more smoke, longer use etc, but mostly more like the size of a Cuban Havana than a traditional ciggy.

I have just purchased a itaste mvp a couple of days ago. I was worried about the shape and size of it as I had a cig looking one previously. But I had the same poor vape and battery life problems ad yourself. I am very pleased with it and would recommend it. However it is a little more than 20 it costs 50 quid. Happy hunting

E-lites are over priced & under perform & aren't compatible with any of the spares that all the good UK vendors sell

Do look into going for an eGo or Riva.

The site you linked to worries me a tad - can't explain why, but my gut feeling is they may be drop shippers?

When I 1st started vaping i started on e lights and cig looking elec cigs, they just didn't do it for me i got sic of the charging, wasting money on the refills, and I tryed very hard , but found I was still gasping for a fag, so realy all i did was waste my money.
and ended up back on the fags
but me being me I wasn't about to give up trying, and opted for a pair of ego passthroughs 1100 mah with ce4 clearomizors which can last a couple of days without a charge the clearomizors are easy to fill ,they give loads of vape, and now im two months without a fag.
so my advice is get some ego's and clearomisors if your serious about giving up the fags , and save yourself some money, and have better health. thats it from me

E-Lites are totally incompatible with everything. I've tried and failed.
You can refill them a few times, then the mush sets in and they are good for nothing.
I hate to say it, but the brand new £3.99 e-tips that do 40-cigarettes-worth about 150-200 almost acceptable puffs are the only answer. Even then, getting enough nicotine is going to be a serious issue.

If a user likes the size and shape of an E-Lite and won't go any bigger, then my recommendation would be to consider a different brand that does a "white" battery. There are a few around. I'm 90% sure innokin do a white battery. JacVapour do a white battery, and you can either use their prefilled cartomisers (and then fill them up) or buy the correct adapter to use 510 cartos (empty/fresh ones) from any vendor under the sun and the add your own liquid.

The trouble with most of these products though is the battery life. I had 3 JacVapour batteries going in rotation using a PCC and although I enjoyed using the product and found it was acceptably priced to buy prefilled cartos and then top up with juice, eventually I gave up.
JacVapour now do a 280mah battery, although it's a bit pricey....ouch....

From there, I graduated to a Riva 1100 kit.

I missed the small e-cig though and solved that issue by buying a pair of joyetech 510 batteries (in silver) and used these out and about for ages.

Basically, about the best solution is to buy a "team" of 510 mini e-cig batteries and use all the other accessories exactly the same as everybody else. You can't sensibly use regular-sized clearomisers but there are plenty of nano clearos now available.

So, knowing what I know now, if I was moving on from E-Lites and simply was not prepared to go up a size, I get some 510 batteries and some boge/kanger cartos and maybe 2 or 3 nano clearomisers. Also, I'd bite anybodys arm off for a 510 PCC.

I can't recommend this kit, as it's one of the few kits from Vape Escape I really don't know anything about, but it could be worth investigating.

It's easy to spend £2,000 a year on E-Lites. That's what I would have spent. £600-700 a year is going to buy enough 510s and cartos and juice to keep most vapers happy - it's just the battery issue.

I started with the E-lites ages ago and ended up going back on the cigs after dud carts and expensive
replacements. Just decided to try again with an Ego clearomiser kit and have to say for me it's a huge improvement over the E-lites.

Just convinced my mate who has been on the ciggie lookalikes to try my Ego T kit and she was surprised
at the difference and has ended up ordering a kit tonight!

Taking everything into account, I'll do some more research after work tomorrow with the suggestions and links you've all provided (i guess I should avoid the website I linked too)

As for batteries...I always got by on 1 before, but then again I work with PCs so was never short of a USB port to top the charge up throughout the day
Maybe if I just got a set/kit with 2 batteries then we can share them and see what we think before buying more.

Take the plunge and go for a 650mah version. Not much bigger than a cigalike with all the benefits of a tank. I was sceptical but haven't looked back
