LOL! I know exactly what you mean... I had an OMG-PUKE moment when i realised my entire house stunk of fags!
However, I freely admit to still loving the smell of a freshly opened box of cigs.
I've voweed I wont become one of those ex smokers who go all militant about smoking (but its would be so easy to!).

I've told this story before . . . but my Dad ( in his 80's ) is a pipe smoker, as a child I used to love smelling the tobacco in his baccy pouch, St Bruno Flake . . . divine! Now, since vaping - I can't bear the smell of cigarette smoke, where I work, we have to have the shop door open . . . I can smell anyone walking past smoking, similarly anyone driving by with the window rolled down and smoking is another ewwww moment for me. As for the house, although I used to stand at the kitchen door and smoke, with candles burning in the background . . . the whole house seemed 'tainted', so last year all the curtains came down and were washed . . . this year I'm working my way through all the rooms re-decorating. None of this bothered me when I was smoking.

I've noticed this before. I gave up a few years ago for about 3 months and when any smoker came to the house I could smell it straight away. My sense of smell is really bad now but I can already notice that my clothes and hands don't reek of tobacco.

I'm a little consoled as it's a couple of years since I lasted decorated . . . mind you it's taken three coats of paint in the kitchen to get the ceiling anything vaguely resembling white, not helped by my elderly boiler. I've noticed this before. I gave up a few years ago for about 3 months and when any smoker came to the house I could smell it straight away. Me too Lee, mind you I could do that when smoking, it's just even more noticeable now . . . my washing machine was permanently running as I was obsessed with washing my clothes after the shortest amount of wear, just in case they smelt smoky. . . . plus bathing Sammy as well I might add, so convinced was I that ciggie smells were lurking in his fur.
