I'll have to do a bit of googling but I'm sure you can still participate in tinychat without a webcam.(For the shy ones like me)

The ECR forum uses this technology and i find it brilliant. No need to type- although you can. If you don't want to show you face again its up to you but if you choose not to then people can still hear you and you hear them. I'm currently using a usb dongle which is slightly too slow at times. I still see and hear the peeps in chat and type when joining in as i don't have my mic with me.

Well, I'm bouyed up by my test Skype call with Dave - how fantastic a thing is that!

Plus you do have the option of it being just a voice or video call . . . first time I've put on lippy to sit infront of the laptop.

River, one thing I could easily do is activate the chat facility, but I'm reluctant to do so. Mainly because I'd prefer folks to openly post on the forum & especially welcome/encourage new members
