well I had no joy with the silver wire but thanks to a speedy delivery from dee this thing works really well I had a couple of loose welds and just recharged and used the tip of the clip back on the loose join to re-zap and it made the join much better A lot have problems with silver wire and these camera board mods, I think they would work with silver better if they had higher rated caps. Nickel though works great and is much easier to work with, apparently the thicker Nickel that Dee is selling is even better. I've got some delivered today to test.

yup dee's wire is helping me along nicely now after a few attempts I put no res on the neg post 5-10mm protruding .2 kanthal on the live 5-10mm protruding and zap with a 2mm overlap at about 3/4 seconds if it looks loose i just pinch the join and a quick 2 seconds ish and flash again to secure

Excellent Ron, glad you're happy with it. I'm working on a way to have the wires connected in a gadget, then you just need to flick a switch and it's done. If + when I sort something easy i'll make it an add on if anyone would want it.

I do not have problems with Gennie style atties but with the ease of this little gizzmo to use could a jointed wire be used to coil and wick to eliminate the top coil to pos post hot spots that some people seem plagued with or is it better to persevere until you get it right,as I think once you have done it you are not afraid of it and doing it right becomes second nature
