I'm just about to try mixing my own juice today, using e-juice me up, which is a fab little app by the way, and I'm wondering how much alcohol I should put in.

I'm using VG nicotine base (54mg) and my flavourings are all PG. Also got some VG and PG on hand, and some vodka. I intend for mixes to be around 80 VG 20 PG.

I'll want to add vodka to thin it out a bit, but no idea how much. What's everyone else's experiences with this? I see from Grizwald's massive thread on mixing that he mixes his VG with 20-25% booze. But looking at my VG nic base, it's quite thin already, more sloshy than gloopy.

Also, I've got some spiced rum i was hoping to use instead of vodka, for some recipes. I can't imagine it'll make much difference to flavour, but it won't hurt, will it?

Using Vodka is usually optional, it is mainly used when liquids are too thick. So if yours is not thick you can leave it out. My VG that I use is quite thick, with a syrup like consistency so I add about 5% Vodka. You could use spiced rum instead of vodka, vodka is used as it does not have much taste, it does contribute a small amount of throat hit as well.

i'm wondering how addition of alcohol when vaped could possibly impact upon a breathaliser result if unlucky enough to get routinely stopped?
i know it's miniscule amounts but when inhaled does it go straight to the bloodstream? ???

At that level I cannot see it showing on a breathaliser.

Remember, YOUR BODY produces a small amount of alcohol during digestion.

So 5% in 1ml of vapor is not going to have any impact, as it's so small your body will just metabolise it as soon as you vape it.

I think some vendors already thin their VG nic base (aqueous), so I'd check back with who you bought it from

I use 10% cheap vodka on the VG I get from Tescos. But it does sound like your VG is thinned already.

Cheers for the advice. I ended up 'borrowing' my sister's vodka and thinning my VG down with that. The VG base seems thin enough already, it was my plain old VG that needed thinning.

I've made a couple of juices, and tried one this morning. Chocolate coconut cream. Pretty bloody tasty actually. I'm well chuffed.

Well I did have the original recipe written down but I've since added extra drops of this and that so am not 100%. I do know that it's PA coconut, PA chocolate and PA bavarian cream. And it's lovely. Reckon a smidge of marshmallow wouldn't hurt, so might order some of that. I'll be sure to post some recipes when I've got em down to perfection.

Oh, and I also managed to finally get my VH drippers coiled and wired to perfection. Tell you what, re-coiling vivi and stardust heads is fab practice.

Sorry if I sound smug, but I've had over a month of crappy vaping and juices grossing me out, so it's nice to finally get my vape on in a satisfactory way.
