No, copper can poisonous if ingested. I would stop using it. But give it a good clean and make sure it is copper not juice residue.

I have just checked my 3 and they are OK, was it a genuine VISION Vivi Nova, and where did you get it from? It may be worth contacting the Vendor.

Copper ain't cheap (although China have most of it now)....be surprised if it's being used when it doesn't need to be.

I dont see china using copper for things like this. Copper is valuable for data cabling and electronics. Highly doubt it is going to be made out of copper then chrome plated. I will get my old one and scratch the chrome off to see what is under it. I bet its brass if anything

They are usually made of steel with copper plating which is used as a primer or under layer for the chrome plating. You will find that they are magnetic. Chrome plating is usually only microns thick and this can be burnt away by heat from the coil..

Perfectly safe. Chances are its a thin layer (microns not millimeters) thick used as a bonding layer. That amount of copper wouldn't do any harm if you ate it. The human body cannot absorb copper (Cu) in its solid metal state, which is why water pipes are copper. If it is a brass then its a mix of copper and zinc (approx 1:4) this is even less of a hazard.

I don't know why you would say it is safe...Inhaling and ingesting are two different things..Water or fruit juice may be perfectly safe to drink but try inhaling it. So while copper pipes may carry drinking water, does not make to safe to inhale copper salts which will be produced on the exposed plating.
Free machining brass contains lead in small quantities in addition. Granted the effects are unknown as there are no studies, but do you really want to advise someone to take a risk for a fiver?

There is no risk Copper has a boiling point of over 2000C, that would need a bloody big atty! Copper is approved by the FDA for direct and in-direct food contact. Its still approved for kids toys. Copper plate will not vaporize at the temperatures an ecig will reach. If copper was a health risk when exposed it would still be a health risk when covered. The top chrome coat will have microscopic holes allowing exposure of the copper. Are you going to bin anything with copper?

Exposed copper in contact with e-juice forms copper salts which are quite toxic..
So just how do you think that chrome layer vanished?
No I am not going to get rid of everything with copper but I am most certainly not going to allow it come in contact with juice or vapour..
