I've been vaping for over a month when my ego v6 vv exploded yesterday.
I never planned on going back to analog but I was forced to because of the phobia of that explosion.
Could someone recommend or tell me what the safest mod is out there?

How did it explode exactly? When you were charging it, or what?

Welcome BevJane, I can only suggest that you buy your kit from a reputable Vendor. Try Vape Escape. www.vapeescape.co.uk/default.aspInfact give Jason a ring and explain what has happened and he will sort you out with some new gear. The discount code is allabout and that will get you 10% off.

That is scary BevJane. The only other explosion I have heard of, apart from guys building their own mods, was also with an ego v6.
There are apparently technical reasons why stacked batteries might explode. So I think you can get just about any mod as long as you don't stack the batteries. I'd recommend a Vamo, but (obviously) don't use the stacked option. You want v2, stainless steel. Or a Lavatube if you'd feel safer with something that has been around for a while - I guess full size to give the same life as the V6. The Vamo is a LOT heavier than the Lavatube or the v6, but it does have the variable wattage, which is nice. The Lavatube is about 1cm longer than the v6, the Vamo about 2cm longer
If money is no object then I guess a Provari, though I wouldn't spend that much myself.

Yup stacking batteries has been attributed to another case of an exploding e-cig. Sorry to hear it happened to you As already said Vape Escape are excellent and are fast and reliable. Oh and never stack batteries!

Hi and Welcome BevJane I would recommend a Vamo if you are going to get a new Vaping Machine, i have had mine for roughly 6 weeks and never had the slightest problem (6 weeks is not long i know). Hope you get it sorted soon.

Hi Bevjane, sorry to hear anout your trouble. Do you need a mod? Maybe something like the Riva 1100 would suit you better while you rebuild your confidence? It's time tested, a proven solid performer and loved by many. Don't forget your discount!

For mods I can recommend the Itaste MVP. fantastic build quality and awesome battery life Or as raid says, you can't go wrong with a Riva 1100 if you want a straight forward battery that works well every time with good battery life.

Hello from me too Bev You must have got quite a fright! I wish vendors wouldn't sell decices that can only use stacked batteries and any vendor selling a mod should warn against this use!

Sorry to hear but glad you are ok and glad you want to continue with vaping - my first mod melted in my pocket and it nearly put me off. Thankfully I had it in a small camera case and I am still fertile. With all things, you have to be the safety gauge I am afraid and not rely on the devices. The ego v6 vv you had uses stacked batteries without any internal cutoff or voltage monitoring. Stacked batteries at unequal charged levels will lead to unpredictable results. Mods like the Vamo will switch off when your battery gets to a low voltage. However I don't believe the Vamo circuit board can calculate the individual voltages of two batteries. Checking the manufacturer configuration is always recommended. I seem to recall that the later version of the Zmax can run safely with stacked batteries but please don't quote me on that - I still believe stacked batteries means you need to manage their health closely. Mods like the Vamo will switch off when your battery gets to a dangerously low voltage, but ultimately you are still trusting in the electronics. I would recommend everyone to invest in good batteries, a good charger (preferably one with voltage monitoring), invest in a LiPo safety bag and also a multimeter to independently verify the health of the batteries after charging them. This is a great handy gadget ... www.warlordsmods.co.uk/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=77Also please keep a track of how quickly the voltage on the battery is dropping which is a tell-tale sign of a dodgy battery. For MVP/Ego devices which use USB charging, please check them periodically when charging for excessive heat. As ex-smokers, would we ever leave an unattended cigarette? Mods: This is the second occurrence of the v6 exploding ... can we put a warning sticky or something up to advise people not to buy this or to urge caution? Whoever the vendor is/are, they should be removing it from sale - imho. PS: I don't work in health and safety, I just don't want to have to pay for reconstructive facial surgery
