hi clutter, i dont know about the safety bit but there is a fair too good chance they wont fit, thats if you intend using them in the ggtb. even the aw ones are sizey, sometimes you have to take off the sticky label, not the plastic cover, you DONT want to do that. cheap though!!!!!!!! raggy

I'd be wary of those Clutter, as Raggy says from the size point let alone anything else . . . I bought some cheaper ones from Deal Extreme at first, not only were some too long for the TR-001 charger, some were also too fat for the GGTB - although I can use them in other mods. There's these peeps selling the AW's. www.ledfiretorches.co.uk/catalogsearch/result/index/?q=17670&submit=&cat=7PS. They're in stock and it's free UK delivery.

Thank you both. I thought the prices seemed too good to be true. Does 'AW' denote size?

The size of a battery is the number it has Clutter . . . for example a 17670, knock off the last zero, that gives you the circumference 17mm and the length is 67mm. All you wanted to know about AW batteries here. Most AW Batteries have built in Protection PCB that prevents Over Discharge, Over Charging and also offer Short Circuit protection. These batteries have life cycle of more than 500 charge-discharge cycles. AW Batteries also feature New Anti-Explosion Vent/PTC Module. The new module provides an added layer of protection against gas built-up in addition to the PTC thermal protection. Unlike regular vents used by most LiIon cells, these new modules will actually stop the action by separating the electrodes inside the battery when the pressure reaches a preset threshold. The vent disc will open and release the gas plus stopping the cell from further chemical reaction. Combined with the PCB electronic protection and two layers of mechanical ( thermal and pressure ) protection, these new protected cells are one of the first with added safey features in place.

Hi perps..
Since we are talking about batteries one doubt..
Is there a lot of difference between the performance of the high drain batteries and the ordinary protected ones.
If there is indeed a great difference which would be the one you would recommend
cheers
