When I started vaping, i didn't go for a kit, ended up costing me more I still remember upgrading to my trusty black LT after vaping for about 6 weeks! I was so scared that I wouldn't understand what to do, didn't really understand vv at all Obviously, it worked out fine! I think some people really do well jumping right in, most newbies that come here though are doing a bit of research and just want to know that they can get something that will work, and work well!

The point of my OP was that better can be had for the price without being to daunting, and also a better experience with the same size equipment.

Newbies don't want VV or Nova's with replaceable heads. Generally they've just put out a fag and you can't expect someone to go up to the advanced level before they even understand what variable voltage means.
Some of us remember what it was like to be a newbie and if someone had recommended me a VV battery with a rebuildable tank and spares I'd have never bothered.
Luckily the guys here recommended the Riva, and it's the best advice I ever had, it cut through the amazingly confusing world of PVs and buy something that just worked, was simple to maintain, cheap and gave me everything I needed in a box with next day delivery. Then I got the LT, MVP and LR Dual coil stuff at my own pace because I wanted to learn, not be thrown to the sharks before I even started.

Most newbies want a cig-a-like that will taste the same as their brand and help them cut down smoking!

That's what I did to Karma. But when your new to something it's very easy to make mistakes. So I think it's very important that new vapers get something that is good quality and from a vender that has a good custmer service. Jason isn't the only vender of course and all venders that I have used through the forum have provided a better than good for service.

Unbelievable, whats so hard about a simple twist, or how to fasten on a atty, in tact you have more going on with the riva with the bit and bobs.

Indeed Gengus! Often we do link to similar kits that are a bit cheaper. The problem is, they're not always in stock As I said before, it's great that newbies are recommending what worked for them to other newbies! Once you are an established vaper you don't always know where the best starter kits are!

Not everyone comes into vaping ready for that stuff (I'd say no one), in fact with all the lovely new people we've had join recently I can't think of one that said the Riva kit is a bit basic and overpriced, please could they have a more advanced set up. People want a warm friendly community that gives them simple sound advice on a simple kit ready to go with a click of a button. Go on find one that thinks your idea of VV vaping for beginners is a good idea. It's ok, I'll wait...

Mybad. The fact that you find other's comments unbelievable suggests that you've forgotten what it was like to be a newbie or you're blessed with a higher technical understanding than the average newcomer

Unbelievable, whats so hard about a simple twist, or how to fasten on a atty, in tact you have more going on with the riva with the bit and bobs. I started on an ego-t kit with ce5 clearos, now after doing some research on e cigs i was overwhelmed with information to the point where i almost gave up on the idea, if i then had to think about vv it would have been to much. Read some of the newbie posts, some dont even know how to fill or screw on carts and clearos so on top of figuring that out you have to explain how vv works to them and expect them to understand, i don't think so, it would be to much for them. You say what's so hard about a simple twist, but when you know nothing about e cigs at all a twist is a pretty daunting idea. The anxiety and worry about giving up smoking is hard enough so when experienced vapers recommend a kit and a vendor it makes it easier for them without making it complicated, they JUST want to stop smoking that's it. Nothing more at that point.
