Dolly, that's great news. To have your independence is massively important - I was laid up with a ruptured Achilles Heel 18 months ago, and it's SO frustrating not being able to take yourself somewhere.
Hope you find the car is everything you wish it to be, and enjoy that first trip - don't forget the Congestion Charge!

I have already got a blue badge. My doctor organised it for me a while ago. It really does come in handy if i need to go to London as I can park on double yellow lines. I also don't have to pay the congestion charges. When you get the badge you pay a one off £10 charge to cover it and thats that.
I was very thankful that when i was in hospital last year they arranged for me to have a support worker. Because I have never had any help for anything before be it money or aid, I had no idea whatsoever what help was out there and this woman comes to see me once a month to make sure i am ok and she helped organise everything for me. I didn't even realise i could have DLA. She did the forms for me and i am very grateful to her. Lovely woman.

This forum never ceases to amaze me,when i have posted about my disability on other forums i always get negative replies and sometimes made to feel like a scrounger,everyone here is so pleased and supportive for Blownupdolly as i am,well done everyone and dolly.

Yes, most folks on here are just great people. Although I do believe most are anyway. Some people might just be having a bad day and spout off things they regret later, but on the whole i like to see the best in others.
The kindness of those on here is borne out by the level of donations already collected for Storms wife.

Oh...BTW...crossed another notch off this morning... 6 days and counting. I keeep dreading the phone ringing and them telling me they forgot to load it on the car transporter!!
