Hello all I'm new and looking for some expert advice . I have been vaping for about 8 months and I use the 10motives rechargeable with menthol cartomizers. It is proving a little expensive and I find the cartomizers variable in quality - some seem to run out very quickly and I'm getting through one cartomizer a day so the cost is adding up. I understand from my (limited) research that the 10Mo is a 510? So I should be able to get my cartomizers elsewhere? Or should I buy liquid? I am reluctant as don't want the faff of filling it up every 10-15 drags (is this right?) I would prefer to use the batteries I have until they die but could be persuaded to something else if its good. In terms of my needs I have a few puffs throughout the day here and there (when I can hide from the kids ) and a good vape in the evening. On a completely different note - two things, firstly is someone asks if you smoke is the answer yes or no? For example I need to have an operation shortly - I said no but should I have said yes? And secondly, it's not going to give me lung cancer is it? It just seems a bit too good to be true..... TIA

Hi and Welcome I started on the 10 motives as well and I found the same as most will tell you on here. The battery life is terrible and the cartos are expensive (they also taste a bit...umm... funky.) The cartos on the 10 motives are 510 and normal cartos will last as long as a 10 motives if not longer and like the 10 motives can be refilled. I would like to say any company that swears blind you can't refill their cartos when you obviously can is unethical IMHO. Some more info. Vaping won't give you lung cancer There are no carcinogens in e-liquids. Using an e-cig is safe as far as anyone knows (doesn't mean 100% safe) there are no documented acute side effects from using ecigs but they've only been around a few years. So far the evidence is all in our favour though. Ecigs are many orders of magnitudes safer than smoking. As to are you still a smoker or not. In reality no, you don't inhale smoke so aren't smoking. In habit yes, you are still a nicotine user and still have the habit of smoking. Most on here are fine with the habit and fairly harmless drug nicotine just not the health risks from smoking. It's not too good to be true... it's good and it's true Hope that puts your mind at rest and ask any questions you want, this is a nice forum with lots of helpful people who have all done the same as you If you want to find something a bit cheaper to run and more satisfying to use there is a whole world out there if you aren't tied up on having something that looks like a ciggie. Battery life, flavour (subjective), amount of vapour produced everything can be improved if you want to move away from the look alikes

Hi and welcome! You can use cartomisers from Here that will fit your 510 battery and also e-juice to fill them with. I started my vaping journey much like yourself using Nicolites (510s) and bought spare cartos and juice from Vape Escape for a while until I got fed up with constantly having to charge them every couple of hours. You would get a much longer battery life (approx 12 hours or so) with a bigger battery, such as in the Riva 1100 kit from the same vendor. It's a great basic starter kit and will save your hours of re-charging faffing about. It is also a far, far (imo) better vaping experience than the disposables will ever give you too. I can't answer your last two questions, unfortuntely, but someone far more knowledgeable and superior will be along very shortly to help you out. Good luck! ETA: I see the lovely Kibbster has beaten me to it with his far more comprehensive and articulate answer there. He's THE MAN!

Hello & welcome lovesa10minutebreak As Kibbster & Sam have said, there are far cheaper (& better) alternatives to 10 motives.

Thanks for your quick replies. I am not bothered about whether or not it looks like a cigarette. I have seen that the riva1100 is very well thought of. I am about to put in an order to 10motives as down to my last packet of cartomizers but that seems a little silly in light of your advice. So is refilling your own the way to go? Are there 'good' pre filled ones or it that just for the gulliable? Is it much of a faff? How often will I need to do it? <bit lazy> Thanks for the reassurance BtW! Ta

The stuff in prefilled is exactly the same as fill your own just more expensive and random pick and mix flavours. i.e. 10 motives say you can have tobacco or menthol flavour. Well I know of numerous tobacco and menthol flavours with pre-made and custom made liquids and I assume 10 motives make their own, I found it not very "tobaccoey" and a strange sort of fruity chemical taste to it. Not exactly unpleasant but.. strange. There are 100's of flavours out there available in lots of mixtures of PG/VG and what ever nicotine level you want (up to the legal limit, but if you can vape that I think you need help lol) I'm currently switching between Hangsen White chocolate and Alchemist cupboard Egg Custard Tart Hangsen liquids are a factory manufactured liquid in China (there are other large manufacturers there.) and www.thealchemistscupboard.co.uk/ is one of the many places where you can get specialised liquids made to order in some fantastic and exotic flavours. The sky is the limit You may find some liquids you hate, but keep trying there's something out there for everyone and always new flavours to try As others have said the Riva 1100 is a superb starter kit, just add some liquid form your vendor of choice and you are good to go, they won't let you down and will perform so much better than a 10 motives.

Hi love! (Sorry if that seems a little over-familiar, but it would take me all night to type your full name...)

You can get prefilled (cheaper than 10 motives) but are limited to flavours. If as Kibbster says the 10 motives rechargeable has a 510 thread, then these would fit - www.vapeescape.co.uk/sd-keyring-prefilled-cartomisers~272However, even if you do buy prefilled cartomisers, you can keep them going for far longer by topping them up with e-liquid. And yes, something like a Riva or ego will be a big improvement - especially on battery life between recharges.

Thank you all for your kind welcome! kibbster are you the guru here? you are very helpful, thanks. Think I will order the riva - my 10M battery has just ran out agin- it's been going for all of an hour and a half. Can I ask again, how often does the elk quid need topping up? Thanks

Just noticed on how often you have to refill. It all depends on what you've got on the end of your battery (cartomiser like 10 motives, Clearomiser or tank) and also how much you vape. Bottles come in 5ml, 10ml, 30ml, 50ml and up usually and an average person (if there is such a person) will get through 3ml-5ml a day. To start I'd order smaller in case you don't like it then order in bulk when you find one that you like, 10ml is generally the most common "see if I like it" quantity and bigger bottles are generally discounted.
