Evening all, from a newbie to the forum. I'm a fairly longstanding 'vaper' and I'm currently 6 months without a proper cig, which is far longer than I've managed previously using an e cig....unfortunately I have a problem on the horizon....help please!!! I have an itaste w at home, which is a cracking bit of kit, but looks a bit daft sat in the office at work, so I have a couple of e-lites batterys and tips to see me through while I'm out and about during the day. Unfortunately, e-lites have suddenly changed their menthol recipe, from clean minty fresh to sewer fresh with a touch of peppermint....not good....
Without messing and refilling existing cartidges, does anybody know of a refillable cartridge compatible with the elites battery. Failing that, does an adaptor exist that might allow me to use other companies cartridges that are more suited to my tastebuds. If neither of the aforementioned exist, can somebody recommend an alternative brand, that looks like a cig, that might allow me my minty vaping to continue??
Cheers in advance.

Hi, I can only go on my personal experience. I found Nucig quite good when I started and also skycig. Not cheap but I liked both of their menthol pre-filled menthol cartomisers. All you can do is really give a few a try and see what you like. There are cheaper alternatives but I find they tend to have less capacity so not good value. There is also Freshcig (different length of 510 threading) and Gamucci. I can probably post discount codes for those mentioned above if I search my desk. edit.. sorry forgot to welcome you to the forums as your 1st post, and am sure lots of others will chip in with good advice.

but looks a bit daft sat in the office at work, Sorry candlestick, probably not what you're wanting to hear, BUT why do you want something that looks like a cig? BE different, and show others what they're missing. Don't know of the 'itaste w' so cannot comment on that. A Riva or eGo system can give you so many options, together with an unbelievable range of juices. Finding the right one is another story altogether! BTW Welcome

Hi Candlestick, and welcome to the forum! +1 for the advice above - go radical and get something which will give you a far superior vape with masses of compatibility and flexibility. A Riva 1100 kit from Vape Escape or one of the many eGo kits available will give you a vape like you've not encountered so far. You might feel self-conscious with something that doesn't look like a real cog, but you would be surprised just how long it takes before anyone notices. The choice of e-juice available to refill a tank or cartomiser is astounding, and the savings in terms of expenditure will amaze you. Have a trawl through the vendors board on this forum, and see just what is available. Also look through the newbie's posts, and see how many are so pleased with their upgrades. Sorry I can't post links, I'm doing this on my phone! Andy

But Candlestick mentions he already owns an itaste variable voltage and has been vaping for 6 months. I cant imagine a Riva will give him "a vape like you've not encountered so far." lol. Having said all that i think the itastes look great and especially in the office at work! Trust me Candlestick.. If youre getting strange looks its because they're jealous that they only have a pen to stick in their mouth.... they know they will never get a Grants Vanilla Custard or a Banoffee Cream flavoured pen.

Thanks for the suggestions peeps! AndyB - daveyboy is correct, the itaste delivers a hit which is akin to the days when i smoked, especially when i crank up the voltage, but even if i was less concious about it's looks, its simply too clunky to carry about.
OK, assuming the suggestions that Brambles has given me don't suit, is there a non cig-like vaping kit that is similar in size to the elites I've been smoking that you'd recommend??

Hello and candlestick I know how you feel candlestick, I use my Itaste MPV with an STV on it at work, I was very shy about the vaping thing and what people thought. Don't care now if it's nice day I'll go to the smokers and turn it up and vape like a train just for the lols

Hi Candlestick and welcome I agree about the MVP, great bit of kit with stonking battery life but it's a bit unwieldy. As for the look alikes cartos, can you refil them like you can with most cartos? That would fix your flavour problem (well after you vaped what was in it first.) Failing that are the Elites 510? If they are you can buy any standard carto and fill it when the E-lites ones die. Either way, refilling is the way generally, buying and disposing of prefilled is expensive (I started like that too.)

Candlestick a 400mah battery with a vision NANO is really small and discreet. Get mine from vapeescape

Hi candlestick If you like your iTaste, Innokin also do a cigalike kit such as this one, and I believe someone somewhere said you could put a vision nano on them, too, if you don't want to use cartos. But most cartos will fit on there, and the case acts as a charger, so it's handy for out and about. I bought one for discreet vaping, I get roughly 20-30 mins solid vaping out of one charge, and about 4 charges out of one 'case' charge. It's not overly cheap, and it can't compare to the bigger pieces of kit, but it might be what you're looking for. Or there's always a mini Ego/clearo combo you could go for.

When I moved on from Cigalikes I went the route of a Joyetech 510 Tank. It about the size of a pen, a short pen with the smaller battery, and is a big step up on vapour production, bit does require you to refill the tanks and is expensive for new atomisers. Overall cost though is cheaper that buying new prefilled cartomisers. You can actually buy prefilled tanks for it but seems a waste when they are really simple to refill. I bought the stainless steel ones, and slips in your top pocket and is fairly discrete when wondering about. Look like you are just sucking your pen when using it...apart from the vapour of course. I still use my Skycig kit as it has the PCC case. Personal charging case, and is about the same size as a 20 packet of real cigs. When the batteries are discharged you just recharge in the case. Brilliant, despite not much vapour but still seem to give the desired satisfaction.

I've been round the bouy for smaller more portable e-cigs. E-Lites - threads not compatible with anything. Halo - same. Skycig would appear to be your best bet, partly for the reasons Brambles states re:PCC case, but more importantly, they have 510 threads on them, so the case/batteries can be used with ANY 510 cartos, either pre-filled or fill-your-own p.s. although a lot of 510 cartos won't quite fit in the PCC, you can have 3 batteries (2 in the case and one in use) on the go whilst you're out'n'about....still very handy for driving, too
