I still haven't recoiled or rewicked myself and probably won't ever get into it either even though I think a lot of the tanks look stunning. Only just about to start mixing my own liquid next week. I just go at the pace I want (and the pace my addled brain can absorb info)

Started vaping August last year with 10 motives cig-elike, took about 1wk & moved onto ego + clearo combo. November bought my 1st VV (varible voltage) a Spinner, December got into a group buy on here for the Sigelie zmax, again VV, but also VW (varible wattage). Also in December got my first RBA (rebuildable atomiser) the Aga-T & went the stainless steel mesh route . . . so how long did it take to get into mods, erm not long. But seriously if you want to upgrade a bit & don't want to splash out to much money I'd start with something like a Spinner or Twist. You can adjust the voltage up or down to match your juice & on the plus side you can still use your ego/riva chargers, even something like this can make a really good improvement to your nova's & clearo's. Something like a vamo will give you the option of VV or VM but you will need to buy a charger & extra batteries, it's also considerable larger then the egos/rivas. There is also the possibility of a new group buy for one of these at the end of page 2, allaboute-cigarettes.proboards.com/thread/19556/new-segelei-vps-v4-telescope?page=2Possibly the best of both worlds, VV & VM , and it's telescopic so the size will be adjustable. The good thing about the group buys is that you pretty much buy the stuff at cost so you probably wouldn't have any problems selling it on for what you paid if you didn't like it . . . . also Maccafan has extremely good taste & does a lot of research on our behalf to try & ensure it's right before going ahead. He won't recommend anything if he thinks it's a pile of poo . . . think there are a lot of peeps on this forum that have the mantra "in Macca we trust" I personally wouldn't bother with any RBA's that have the capacity to take stainless steel mesh before you get something at least VV IMO, & there are loads of cracking vids out there to help if you went that route. At the end of the day it's down to personal taste you don't have to upgrade from the kit you've got, lot's of peeps still just use exactly that kind of kit & as the saying goes if it ain't broke don't fix it, but for me I like experimenting & tinkering. I left the world of clearo's because they were just to unreliable for me, & while some of the RBA's might look initially expensive they will pay for themselves over time because they are rebuildable & generally better quality then the majority of clearo's out there. I tend to go for stainless steel & glass wherever possible. Hope that helps a bit & hasn't just confused you even more.

My first step into RBA's was the Clockworks RDA and it didn't take long to get proficient at re-wicking that with silica wick and wire as there is plenty of room to work in and once you have wrapped the wire round the wick you just have to attach it to two screw in terminals, so not much more difficult than re-wiring a plug. Re-wicking things like Vivi Novas etc. is quite a bit more fiddly. I'd start with something designed to be re-wicked with silica like the RDA, or a cheaper good option is the Igo-L. Once you get the hang of it you will find the results are well worth the initial effort Jumping straight in to mesh wicks is very brave - a steeper learning curve and many more ways to get frustrated! Great when you get them working though. Because you can make the coil to any resistance you want, you don't actually need to use a VV device, but you probably would want a mechanical mod as an alternative if you prefer lower resistances.

I have one steel mesh mod. I lies unused and forgotten in the bottom of my bits and bobs box. I have two Spheroids which are rebuildable but these both use plastic foam for the tank that sits above the wick. I am still on my original wick although I have recoiled one a few times. The other is a spare. I will be sticking with the Spheroids (sound like a disease) because they are easy to rebuild.
Apart from the above I basically use clearos, tanks, buds and nanos.
I have a ProVari and a Twist that I rarely use. Basically these are just back ups for my 3 eGo batteries and my Zmax. The eGos are my out and about e-cigs and my Zmax is for home in the evening unit.
Oh and I have a couple of Box Mods that I bought on a whim but rarely use.
In all honesty, I doubt if I will buy any more mods unless they are Vari Wattage and I will only buy these to replace anything that I have that goes phutt. I only have the one mouth and there is only so much that I can put in there, even if others think that my gob is oversized and over used.
