If carling did a E-cigarette forum, it would be like this.
On a cold winters day, AAEC warms me up.

I saw a new member asking for help on one of the other forums a couple of days ago & one of the first replies, told them to google for an answer OK, in a way they were right as the new member would have got help by googling, but I doubt anyone here would ever reply like that. Absolutely Chrissie. I reckon the one main reason I have stayed here is the help I have had from the forum members. Yes it is a good place to chat and share, on and off topic, but the folks on here can "talk the talk" simply because they have also "walked the walk". They have been there and done it and therefore I don't get bullsh*tted into buying rubbish. Every item I have bought since joining AAE-C has lasted me well and does its job superbly. Without this forum I could have spent a fortune on stuff that lasted a few months before going phutt. I know this might sound weird, but I am actually rather proud to be a member here.

Totally agree Lobey. This forum, for whatever reason, is a place where you can discuss vaping issues, or the fact your wife has run off with the milkman! It has an uncanny knack of being able to embrace all subjects in a way that resembles a 'real' family. We know we can discuss our innermost thoughts without ridicule, and that is a VERY important ability.

I do think all the forums (including AAE-C) have different strengths & weaknesses. Apart from trying to make this forum as friendly as possible, my main aim has always been to help folks new to e-cigs as much as possible. And I can never thank you all enough for helping new members & making this forum so friendly I saw a new member asking for help on one of the other forums a couple of days ago & one of the first replies, told them to google for an answer OK, in a way they were right as the new member would have got help by googling, but I doubt anyone here would ever reply like that. I have to agree to tell a new member to use google is a disgrace We all had to start somewhere and if that is the answer you get to questions i think most of us would have given up long ago. We have a saying in the den which we like to quote to new to vaping members and it goes like thus Dont be afraid to ask even if you think it's a silly question as the only silly question is the one you don't ask. Over the short time I've been on AAEC it has become clear that it is also the case within this forum Chrissie your doing a great job here and I think I'm going to like being a regular

I have to agree to tell a new member to use google is a disgrace Yes, I have frequented forums where if you ask the "wrong" questions you are told to do a search on either google or the forum itself. When I get this, I just think "what a patronising idiot"......"you think we/I'm incapable of thinking to have already tried this?" Nothing more unwelcoming than that nugget of friendliness and understanding....

I found this site via ECF. I didn't like ECF much. Way too American, the only good thing there was the UK section which led me here. I am a member of UKV, but never use it unless there is a link posted to something from here. I find most of the other sites too male orientated. One of the great things about this place is the mix of boys and girls together having a good old laugh together in the lounge section. You start to feel you really know people and that is what really makes it a proper community. Then, because of that community feeling, the sense of wanting to help is borne. Whether it is vaping related or not, people here for the most part enjoy helping each other. Not for personal gain, but for the right reasons. That is why I will never leave here. I am not really into vaping for the hobbiest side of it so i dont really care too much about different mods etc. As long as i have something to puff on and I enjoy it thats all i need. I know exactly what you mean.

It has an uncanny knack of being able to embrace all subjects in a way that resembles a 'real' family. We know we can discuss our innermost thoughts without ridicule, and that is a VERY important ability. I think it's nice here because of the lack of trolls here that ruin the Internet most other places. Here we are all just us as we are and we just accept people as they are. It's a very, very rare place where you can talk about anything even if it makes you vulnerable and get support and friendship from people that aren't out to ruin your day to make theirs. I've been a member of a lot of forums and the vast majority of them if you show any vulnerability or weakness you are troll food. Most forums harbour some of the worst aspects of humanity. Here is like a second family and because it's like a family, nasty people don't fit in and wouldn't last long. Anyway enough sentimentality. Suffice to say I'm glad you guys have got my back :-) Sorry I quoted your post Raffles without directly answering your post, I got all emotional and rambled hehe

I post on three vaping forums. One where I can ask stupid questions without being ridiculed, one where I can watch Trog post the same thread over and over again, and one where I can swear and be rude to people without being told off. I like them all as they each give me different things depending on my mood. Yes trog, bless him. I tend to avoid his threads to avoid getting dragged into never ending arguments ;-)

And it doesn't matter how many times the same question is asked.

I started by discovering the quit-smoking threads on Money Scrimping Expurt, got quite pee'd off by the attitudes of the Royal Sue and her backing group, the Sue-ettephones, so eventually drifted along to here - where I spend a disproportionate amount of time. I also drop in to the Irish Boards.ie where the small but usefully formed vaping section is very handy indeed for local issues, supplies and general chit-chat. I'd dropped in to the other forums from time to time but found they weren't very informative for me at the beginning, so had just left them behind. Just last night I actually joined ECF, but doubt I'll be spending much time there.

I've been here for a quite a while i reckon, having been invited very kindly by Chrissie via ebay. I like it here. I loathe snootiness and anything that smacks of elitism. There is very little of this going on here which is very refreshing. I think that this is why aaec has grown so much, nobody likes to feel like they're asking 'silly questions' and nobody gets ridiculed here for asking in the first place.

The first forum I joined was UKV simply because I chose one at random. I stuck with the one place because I felt comfortable with that and the information available on there fitted my needs. However, it has changed since I joined and I no longer feel as comfortable there anymore, there are some members on there that spoil it now and get away with it, it needs to be moderated better. I do go on there now and then to see what's on offer in the classifieds but that's about it now. I joined AAE-C for a change after having had a browse around the forum and thought hmmm, this place seems much nicer and friendlier, even the mods and admin seem to be regular posters which I like, so signed up and haven't looked back. I'm on here too much tbf although I don't post anywhere near as much as I could do. I did join Vaporwall recently, not because I needed another forum to browse, it was simply so I am ready to go if a mod maker knocks something up I like and can afford and then whack my name on a list. It doesn't seem to be a very active place after a few visits so haven't been back on there for a while, I think I went on there about 3 or 4 times and didn't even make a single post. Its all good here and I like it, so I'm here for the long haul whilst I am welcome

ECF was my first forum and I still look in there on occasions although I don't post.
I joined AAEC because I couldn't find clear info on ECF about what was the best set up for me to start with and I felt too nervous to ask questions. I was very lucky that my Google search led me here because the step by step instructions I got from the members made my transition to vaping very easy. I stayed here because I feel comfortable. Being older, I hate forums where show-offs put others down or can't express themselves without using foul language. At the risk of sounding like an old fogey, I like it that people here have manners.
I joined the Caravela forum recently because I thought I might like to buy one of their mods but found it very confusing and wouldn't have a clue how to log in there again. I joined UKV and didn't see anything wrong with it but don't post there and can't even remember my username.

I had a browse on the Caravela forum months ago as I was considering putting my name on the list for a mod but couldn't understand the process, it was very confusing and unclear so gave up. As for UKV, try this.
