Boot's sell Condoms but I don't think we are allowed to F*ck in the shop! They don't offer a fitting service, either. Something that should be addressed.

A fluffing service should offer a condom fitting service, or you're using the wrong fluffers

Boot's sell Condoms but I don't think we are allowed to F*ck in the shop! Next time you go in to buy some lobey (that's if you do) ask the assistant if it's all right if you can use them in there. No you need to try them on first, and you would squeeze a fruit before buying it, so why not test a condom?, maybe one of the fit checkout lassies would oblige lol

If you can't survive for 30 mins without a vape, perhaps you should consider going elsewhere Andy - I'll go get my coat! Sorry dude, if you can't get your shopping without vaping, get it delivered, oh yeah Morrisons don't deliver, but Tesco Asda and Sainsbury's do, not that we have ever used the delivery service though.

I have had issues with Morissons recently and will copy below after I have answered a couple of points. Firstly somebody raised nthe completly spiurious point of vaping leaving a deposit on goods other people have to buy. Well firstly I and I believe many smokers in most recent times would not smoke in a food outlet. But I do not see how vaping can do so as all that is given off is water vapour which being warmer than the surrounding air rises up and away from any goods. Secondly the arguement that it is their building and they can do what they like and we should respect that holds no water for me. The respondent is right in asmuchas any business can refuse to do business with anybody it chooses without reason, but that is not acceptable as any business could refuse to sell to a person of colour, but would risk the discrimination laws nor should they in an arbitrary and controlling manner discriminate against people who vape that is not respecting a large part of your customer base. Respect is a two way street. If any business wishes to build a loyal cutomer base this is not the way to do it. Now here is what I have today sent to the CEO of morissons. I will keep you posted as to how this progresses. Sir,
I understand you have a policy prohibiting the use of the above devices , and write to protest in the strongest possible terms against it.
As a regular customer of your facility at Foss Islands, York I am apalled that such a diktat has been handed down from on high without consultation
or forewarning. I fully appreciate that I have no right to use these devices, but by the same token nobody has any right to tell me not to. Let me make it quite plain that I have never smoked a real or e cigarette in a food outlet, but have in a cafe, it is this to which I refer as the use of e cigarettes is not illegal in enclosed public spaces. I am aware that your organisation is now marketing these devices as being legal to smoke anywhere, but would suggest that you should not be so disingenuous as to sell them as such when you operate such an outrageous policy on your premises.
Recently at the above named branch, I used my device whilst enjoying a cup of coffee in the cafe, as I had on several occasions before, on the previous occasions either nobody said anything, or on three of them a staff member asked me to stop and I declined, only on this last time did the manager remonstrate with me stating this policy. I told him that it was not illegal, was not causing any harm or discomfort to anyone as I was only emitting water vapour. As I was not prepared to comply with this policy and stated that in law I must be given time to finish the produce I had bought, he attempted to invoke the law of trespass. stating that he would have me removed by the security staff if I did not comply. By this time and as I was in "conversation" with him, I was merely holding the device in my hand and not actually using it. I made the point that in the first instance both he and Morrisons seemed to think they can control what people can or cannot put in their mouths and now it appeared that were now attempting to control what people hold in their hands, it must be quite obvious that this is a completely ludicrous situation, you might just as well tell a customer or indeed employee not to chew their pen top. I find it incredible that one of your employees should threaten the use of force and violence against any customer going about their lawful business.
I was also given to understand, that this policy which he refused to show me, was to prevent discomfort to other customers and that e cigarettes were easily mistaken for real cigarettes. On the first point as I have already stated, no discomfort can be detected from the emission of water vapour, the use of such devices does no harm to anyone, how could it? On the second point, I cannot be held responsible for what other people think, all anyone has to do is ask and they will be told what it is and what it does. People tend to jump to wrong conclusions, and in my view if they don't ask, they can remain in blissful ignorance, but their ignorance is their affair and should not affect anyone else. It is somewhat patronising of you to seek to invoke such a policy on behalf of all staff and customers especially in such a dictatorial manner.
This shopkeeper of yours also invoked such statements as " I am just a shopkeeper, I don't need this", "I am only following company policy", and "I'm only doing my job". Where in history have we heard similar before? What's next "Were only doing this for your own good", or perhaps "We know what's best for you" When do you intend to invoke a policy of telling us what to buy and complete this cycle of control by denying us the choice.
I subsequently called your customer services only to be told that "well it's just smoking really isn't it" I declined to argue with the arrogant ignoramous and demanded your contact details, but I do not consider that kind of response as any form of service to customers. Perhaps this person is in need of some further training and information to relieve his ignorant state.
In conclusion this policy is ill conceived, dictatorial, patronising, controlling, unnecessary, discriminatory, and largely unenforceable. I therefore demand to know when you intend to employ some common sense and rescind it. You sir are denying individual freedom to a large section of your customer base.
I am,
Yours in disgust
Arthur Sutherland.

Today, I Vaped freely in Morrisons café, the Bradford Royal Infirmity and Asda. I will only 'ask' to vape in pubs these days because at the end of the day, a supermarket is so open spaced, whos going to complain or even notice it? I intend to vape on the plane on my honeymoon and everywhere else. I've never been stopped so far nor given any funny looks. I got asked by a smoker last year in Skegness in a pub, but back then, I didn't see a single shop even selling elites so I don't think that end of the uk are that clued up on them (or at least not back then)

Sorry Alan but i feel that the last thing we need to do is create Ill feeling or conflict, yes, i would like to have a vape in their Cafe after a coffee or a meal, but I would either choose to go elsewhere or wait until i left the premises.
I am sure in time as e cigs become more "normalised" things will change and so will Company policies but we are a minority and many people do not understand what e cigs are or what they produce.
When e cigs become the norm (I strongly believe that in 5 or 6 years time they will be more common than cigarettes) I too would complain to a Company, but until the vast majority of people understand what they are and what they do, i am happy to respect Company policies.

I'm gillas here. I would politely explain what e-cigs are and how they work, but if someone says no, then I will respect that.
If we all got arrogant and think we can vape where ever whenever we want, people will be anti vaping no matter what. We at the moment need to be tactful. Once they are in full receipt of the facts, they may well change their mind, but don't overreact if they don't.
And in the case of large chain stores, it's not down to the management in the shop. They could get in trouble by allowing a customer to break the companies policy.
We have to remember tobacco/smoking has become more and more taboo over the years. If e-cigs were to be as big as they are now, say 10 years ago it would be so much easier. But unfortunately the governments have done such a good job in making it wrong to smoke socially, it will take a lot to remove alternative nicotine products from the taboo subject of tobacco.
So in short, be polite and respect others wishes until vaping has become normalised.

O, wad some Power the giftie gie us. To see oursels as others see us!
Written 227 years ago, but just as true in this e-cig debate as it is about our lives in general.
We are at the very beginning of a revolution which has the potential to directly affect one fifth of the UK population. The Smokers.
Perhaps now is not the time to behave arrogantly towards companies who, in their ignorance, class Vaping and Smoking as one in the same.
Education takes time to filter down to everyone and eventually companies and organisations will learn the truth about vaping and make fairer policies based on fact and not fiction, but that happy situation is still some ways off.

I have had issues with Morissons recently... Sorry Arthur, with respect, I cannot agree with you here. Every private and business premises has a right to say what is permiitted there. Smoking, in hindsight, has such a 'bad press' and those of us that have switched would agree to the bans that are now in place. We have found a better alternative, but we shouldn't force it on others who see it as the same. I enjoy my vaping, but I'm quite happy to go without for a few hours if it's likely to upset people, and I can quite see how it would. We know it's relatively harmless, but you can't expect the majority to understand, especially if someone is using cig-a-likes. Vaping, in my opinion, will never be accepted as normal behaviour, it's too closely associated with smoking. It is a personal view, but I'm happy to do it in my own space and time, and do not want it 'regulated' or even 'banned' because we forced the issue. Edited to add: pirate242 We may disagree sometimes, but we are all friends... and to AAEC.

Personally I think that the anti smoking brigade "successfully" used the wrong arguments to get smoking banned and that has only become apparent with the introduction of e-cigs which now override all the these wrong arguments.
Because of the Banner that the anti smoking brigade marched under, they have nothing left in their locker to fight the Vapers with. But, if they can come up with something to level against vaping, you can bet your bottom dollar that they will rise against Vaping just as strongly as they have against Smoking.
Those that are considered our friends today will not necessarily be our friends tomorrow.
Firms that allow us to vape on their premises today, will not necessarily allow us to do so tomorrow.
