Hi Everyone, Well, I'd like to say I've been lurking for while, but only found the site yesterday! & you've all got me convinced.. Here's the story - Was in Tesco's yesterday, to buy some baccy; '10motives' cig-a-like on the counter. Asked the wifey behind the counter about it & I might as well have asked my dog! So, home I came to ask my best friend (google ) about it, and can't remember the exact order of events, but found out that basically cig-a-likes are trousers and this site rocks. Would like to kick of with vv, but the budget doesn't allow at the mo. Couple of months in, once I've saved a bit, the 'long haired sergeant-major' may be more up for me spending a bit - she's not too happy about the initial outlay, but she does continually tell me I stink, so I've got permission on the smell aspect so far - can always tell her something's broke later on, so its a vv battery, or pouch of baccy So, have read quite a bit, and have come to the conclusion, with my very tight budget in mind, that I need a VE Riva 1100 Deluxe Kit from VapeEscape. This runs to £35. If I spend another £9 or so, I'll save me £2 p+p! So: To get my free P+P, and get me more 'spare' kit, what combination of the following should I get? Or indeed any other cheap(ish) recommendations. I believe that these are all compatible with the Riva kit - if not, tell me. But I believe some may need a plinth or something- is this merely a cosmetic thing or required for proper function? If just cosmetic, does anyone have links (or pics) with and without this widget, especially with the larger accessories? Vivi Nova v2.5 kit @£9.95 Mini Nova kit @£9.50 Vision Ego v3 @£5.50 Innokin Dual Coil CE5 @£4.99 Vision Ego v2 @£4.50 Which would be a good fit/look on the Riva batteries? I am quite happy to learn to rewick/recoil to save a few extra pennies. Is the Stainless Steel Riva actualy SS, or paint? With this in mind, should I go black or SS? I'm guessing that the clearo in the kit is an Ego v2? If so (or if not), can I rewick/recoil it? Where is the best place for wire & wick? (Indeed I beileve there are many types of wick - which is most suitable?) So, juice- I have smoked DRUM rollies - no filters - for longer than I care to think - & I currently go through about 75g/week.
So, what strength juice - if I go for 36, will I need less (or smaller) draws to get a fix? How long will juice last, considering my current consumption of DRUM? Im thinking of getting my first juice from Paradise Vape as they do a DRUM flavour (thinking of first vape of the morning!) Well, I think that's enough for my first post - sorry it's been epic, but I want to get this right. Look forward to learning a lot more from you all here as start my journey on kicking the stinkies.

Hello Fred, good to meet you If you order from Vapeescape use code 'allabout' for discount! any of those extras will be fine with the Riva and Paradise Vape's Drum is ok, but perhaps buy another few little sample bottles so as you can try different flavours! Personally I wouldn't recommend buying 36mg juice. Buy small bottles and get some at 24mg and some at around 18mg and see how you get on

Hello Fred and . I'd 2nd what Karma says and say best to order a few 5ml bottles of different flavour and strengths till you find what suits you. I'd suggest ordering a few dessert/fruit flavours aswell as tobacco flavour, you'll be surprised with what you like!

Thanks Karma, kirrielad & irishcas, Will certainly be trying all sorts of flavours - not just limited to tobacco flavours once I'm an ex-smoker I thought drum juice would get me over that 'morning thing', & I think I'll get the DRUM in 24 then, along with some flavours from the sweetie-counter. I'm just looking at Vapourtine and the BOGOF offer - think I'll try couple from them s well

I would also get a good mixture of juices. I went through between 75-100g unfiltered golden V so I got 4 tobacco 10ml bottles all different flavours to remain familiar, but they are all very boring and 2 not very nice at all, but my 'long haired Sergeant Major' has said I can't get any more until I have vaped what I have got! Hmmm... not nice lol.
So buy lots of small varied flavours. My brother has got spearmint (now I hate(d) menthol smokes) but this flavour is lovely and will be the first flavour I will pick up. But everyone is different and whilst someone may hate a flavour someone will adore it.
Welcome to the forum, and this place is absolutely amazing!

Hi Fred, and welcome to the forum! I would agree with the advice above - 24mg strength will be enough I think, 36mg will perhaps be too strong. In any case, buy small samples first until you have found something that you like, and then you can buy in larger quantities once you find a juice that you get on with. And as far as flavours are concerned you will discover that there is a whole world of new taste sensations out there that you really wouldn't have considered as a tobacco smoker. I started with RY4, which is a tobacco flavour but fairly sweet with with caramel overtones, and this is as close to a tobacco flavour as I have got. I now vape dessert and sweet flavours, and mix my own juice which incidentally is much cheaper, and I think more satisfying. Whichever vendor you buy from, be sure to check the vendor list on the forum to get any discount codes that may be flying around, it's surprising how much difference they make in the long run! Keep us posted, and remember that we are here to help if you have any problems or questions! Andy

Hi Fred Sorry, I can't give you any advice as I am a fellow newbie and know nothing :-D
I've just joined as well but I must say this forum seems like a lovely friendly place. I've been given loads of help already :-)
(why won't my smileys work any more?)

A warm welcome to you Fred. Enjoy your new found ' hobby ' . . . just remember any baccy eliquid you buy, will be a representation of that flavour, as opposed to the actual. Buy small bottles until you find what suits your palate, which may well change over time as your taste buds recover from the effects of smoking.

Hi Fred welcome to the best forum on the net.
As others have said buy samples of any flavour you want, most samples tend to be 18mg or 20mg. See how you get along with those before buying larger quantities and higher stengths. I smoke GV and went through about 30 grams per week. At 18mg I cut down to 5 a day which proved to me vaping was the way to go without a doubt. I then bough 24mg juice and still smoked 5 a day, so then i bought 30mg juice which was a bit of a risk as I could only get it in 30ml bottles. It worked, not had a stinky for about a month and I still have the lower mg juices for cutting down the nic in a month or so, not not wasted any money.
Starting with a Riva will stand you in good stead and you wont regret it.

Well, waiting for the postie to arrive tomorrow - can't wait! So I ended up ordering: The VE Riva 1100 Deluxe Kit Black Vision Ego Rainbow V3 Rebuildable Black 2.4ohm Kanger EVOD BC Clearomiser Black from vapeescape - they didn't have the mini-nova in stock, and I wondered if the vivi-nova v2 might be a bit wide, so there we have it. Also ordered Kiwi/Apple/Strawbery, Chocolate Cream, Caramel & Espresso juices from vapourtine (Bogof & free delivery - TODAY ONLY) - hope I like them coz they're 20ml! Now away to find a few more flavours before the 'long-haired sergeant-major' realises what I'm up to. So, the start of my journey has so far set me back just shy of £56, so in just over 2 weeks I'll be saving money, as well as my health
