I've only skipped through this thread, so correct me if I'm wrong, but I've just tried to send money to someone via 'Gift' & it appears that 'Gift' doesn't exist anymore. Had to do it 'Family or friend' & paid a bit on top of the amount I wanted to send..

You are right Chris, but they have just changed the format. The new format for gift is now family and friends, but as the old gift, if you pay using a linked bank account then you do not pay fees, so same thing by another name.

Never credit card and only Debit card if you have linked it to your Paypal account from what I can gather from Chrissie and a few others. I have not linked my Debit card so personally I dont know. I have linked my bank account, then when I pay by what is now "Family and Friends". I can pay using it thus avoiding paying any fees to Paypal.

I have my debit card linked to paypal & that's what I used this morning.

I do understand the concerns, but I can think of only one slight problem in the time I've been here! Once the mods and other members got involved it was soon sorted! Too right if it aint broke don't fix it

Paypal are in business to make money `profits` for their shareholders. So You can expect to be charged approx 4% on your transactions. They have been charging this in my dealings for at least these past 6 months. So remember in future to add 4% to your asking price, to cover these charges. (Money grabbing bar- stewards)
