Hi people. I've been using a skycig for a few weeks and have realised that it's just a beginners kit. I'm going to get a riva 1100 deluxe, but wanted to ask what the difference between cartomisers and clearomisers is, and if there are any other extra things you'd recommend that I buy to keep me going on my forthcoming holiday (like extra batteries etc) Thanks in advance!

Hi Jake If you have the sky cig as back up, then everything you need will be in the Riva kit except for e-juice! I'd perhaps buy a spare clearomiser. Where are you going on holiday?

Clearomisers are pretty much just tanks you fill with the atomiser built in, cartomisers are tubes filled with wicking material that holds the juice. Both can be rebuilt/replaced. Both have their fans and positives and negatives.
Are you going abroad on hol or staying in the uk?

Hi Jake Like wot Karma says, get juice! A spare clearomizer or some spare cartomisers wouldn't go amiss either

Welcome Jake. A different type of vape you'll maybe find between Carto's and Clearo's . . . like most of us I'm sure you'll experiment with different methods to find what suits your style of vaping best. That's part of the vaping fun, trying different things.

Welcome Jake, bad luck on the skycig thing. We've all been there (well, most) and got fleeced. Unless I'm wrong, skycigs (like e-lites) use a filled cartomiser. Cartomisers are great, especially the ones you can refill with your own liquid and only pay £1.20 for. Unlike E-Lites which charge £3.99. But, I digress. A carto (miser) will hold about 1ml of liquid and need topping up more frequently. They are disposable. A clearo (miser) will hold anything from 1ml (in a nano-sized one) to 3ml or more! They are semi-disposable if you buy a rebuildable one. They "vape" a bit differently, and cost-wise are hard to compare. I use clearos only these days, and none of them refuse to die, so I have about 10 (?). I reckon I save money long term using clearomisers.

I got Kanger EVOD and a Vision Ego v3 at the same time as my Riva Kit, to get free p+p once the discount code was applied.
Cant decide which is best yet - different juices in each - but they are both better than the one in the kit.
Ive also got some cheap atty on the way along with 5 cartos pre-filled with vanilla (£1.80).
Enjoy whatever you get.

With Cartos you don't know that you are running out of e-juice until you get little vapour or a burnt taste because they are inside a metal tube.
With clearomisers you can see the level of the e-juice.
I use both but on different PVs and for different reasons.

I'm loving my evods except I discovered an hour ago mine are 1.8ohm ones. No wonder they produce so much vapour and drink the juice. I think Vape Escape should consider offering something along the lines of "buy this kit (Riva) and get £1 off either a V3 or EVOD." It took me too long to look into Vivi Novas and/or V3s. I killed the included clearo immediately and though they must all be rubbish. So, I used cartos for about a month.

Welcome Jake. Even with the Riva kit, don't throw away any used Skycig cartos you might have. They can be re-filled and the Skycig then makes a useful backup. Also they have the same thread (510) as the Riva so you can use them on your new batteries too

Good old E-Lites.....can't even keep them for back up. I charged up an E-Lite, attached a brand new carto and put it in the car just in case I got snowed in on the motorway. Good job I didn't....it gave off 1% of the vapour of a proper e-cig.
