Ok, so I've managed 2 months of vaping exclusively, and it was only this weekend that I got a whiff of a fag and thought "oh I wish I was smoking one of them". Not to say I haven't been near them, the wife still smokes when she has a drink, and who am I to stop her? Generally I look smug and chuckle as she has to go outside the pub. But in the house, I've always smoked in there anyway, so she does as well. I think it was because I was using a non-tobacco flavour for the first time not just having a little taste of it. (Vapourtine Pina Colada, very nice btw). Changed it over for yet another tobacco flavour and was a bit better. I know if I have a fag i won't like it, cos I've done it a couple of times already. Which is frustrating, because the back of my head thinks different, it remembers that I love the things and always have done. On top of this, all my clearos now leak into my battery connection (except the original CE4 from the Riva kit, which I stuffed a bit of cotton wool on top of the wicks, seemed to fix it.) And everything seems like way too much of a faff. Along with the lanyard I have had to adopt after dropping the bloody thing so many times in the pub, which is not cool, and the batteries occasionally dismantling themselves for no good reason, I am having a crisis. Reassure me, tell me that if I do buy that ego tube mod that is nice and cheap, and find a nice clearo that won't leak, I will be fine with all this.... Btw, I got a new T3 yesterday, as the last one I had was the best clearo I had used, and didn't leak or nothing, until it got dropped on to a brick floor and cracked the tank. Hoping this will cheer me up, as I sit here cleaning liquid from the bottom of a 5ml t2 for the 4th time this morning.

Aww Dave, you're having a bad vape week, huh? I only have limited experience as I don't rebuild, but can recommend the vivi novas (mini and standard) and the Evod if you're looking for a decent clearo tank.

Yeah I'd go with the vivi nova but ONLY tha genuine vision ones. Vapeescape do genuine ones that I know for sure. I have five and have never had one leak yet. I have the odd bad day too when I can't enjoy anything. On those days I turn to my drippers, satisfaction every time. I use a vision eternity and an ss Phoenix. The Phoenix from vapingthings is great. Chin up, it's just a phase. Deep down you know that. Chris.

I'll echo Jens' comment about the Evod, although some people have had leaking problems, but that can happen with any clearo.

It IS harder when your other half is still smoking, because you don't get all the benefits of giving up - the house still smells of smoke, there's still ash, and of course the stinkies are sitting there waiting for your moment of weakness! I know, because my husband is still smoking (although am away from home at the moment, and therefore free of cig smoke, although living with my Dad's cigar habit!). Despite all this, and only 4 weeks into vaping (was on e-cigs a week before my eGo Twist arrived, hence sig start date), I am determined never to go back to smoking. So far I've been very lucky with my kit - all I have is my basic starter kit of 2 x eGo Twist batteries, several T3 clearos, some MT3 clearos and a couple of CE4 clearos, plus a couple of extra batteries. OK, so the T3s and MT3s leak a little bit - but only a little bit, and not all of them, I just carry a tissue and wipe as I go Not had any major disasters so far. Sounds like you've been particularly unlucky with your experience! I think it helped me to get away from tobacco flavours as early as possible - turns out I'm not that keen on the taste of tobacco after all - I far prefer coffee, chocolate donut and vanilla custard. It's made me dissociate the act of vaping from that of smoking, because the taste doesn't remind me of what I'm 'missing'. Also - had a bit of a revelation last night, whilst sitting happily by a roaring fire in a pub, vaping away. We were quite near the door, and MAH GAWD! the smell as people came in and out from the smoking area - it was really strong, and I definitely don't want to smell like that again ever! My non-and-never smoking mate laughed at me turning my nose up at it, he said he's heard so many ex-smokers comment on the smell - but we really can't smell it when smoking, can we? Please don't be discouraged - you will find the kit that works for you, and you won't look back. You may - as I have - develop a craving for custard, though Best of luck!

Sounds like a good excuse to get some better stuff. I'd also get a vivi nova (or 2). And dual coil head www.vikingecigs.co.uk/index.php?route=product/category&path=76 If you're on ego/riva type batteries then you'll want the mini nova. I have never tried an ego tube mod, but if you are going for 18650's and charger I'd have thought you'd do better to spend the extra £15 and get a Vamo (and a full-size Nova) Put a dual coil Nova on that and you may well find that flavours you thought were nothing suddenly come to life.

<<<Reassure me, tell me that if I do buy that ego tube mod that is nice and cheap, and find a nice clearo that won't leak, I will be fine with all this... >>>
I think you have answered two of your own questions.
First off stop dropping things.
Secondly, stop looking for cheap items and then expecting them to work like, and for as long as, more expensive items.
Pay a bit more and buy from reccommended Vendors and it will pay for itself in time.
I have 7 Clearos, 2 Kangers and 4 Viva Nova tanks. I have been using these with a lanyard, some since last October and they are all still going strong. In that time I have had one cracked clearo and I have replaced 2 heads. Also, I am still using the original Vision 1000 Kit that I bought back in June 2012 which I paid about 60 quid for and so far it has saved me £3706.00. Not a bad investment!

Uhh, stop dropping stuff? I quite agree with this. Wish i could. I really want to get sorted without spending anymore money ideally, since I have yet to break even on all the stuff i have bought, compared to what i would have spent on fags. And disassociating it with smoking is the worst thing I can do, as long as my brain is fooled into thinking I'm still on the fags I'll be alright. Weird but true. Wifey is fine, she only has a fag maybe once a week, perhaps twice if we're properly on the sauce (I say we, it's mostly me). And any mod I buy would need to be small enough to carry around, and them vamos look big.

You sir, are an inspiration. My Rivas are not dead yet, just a bit bent, and they still work. Will persevere with the kangers, and learn to mess about with them and get them fixed. Thank you, this is what I need to hear, that it isn't all a money pit.

Sounds like a job for a (mini) Ego and mini nova to me - it's what I use when out and about

I have a wee 650 ego i got cheap, cos it had a spare charger and a CE4 with it. The CE4 leaks like a bugger I like the reassurance of having lots of run time on the batteries, cos i still like to think that when i leave the house I might not be back for days (used to happen a lot, now, not so much). Have just filled up the new T3 and had a decently long go on it. Seems ok again. It was the moment on sunday when I pulled the lanyard up for a quick vape, and discovered that one of my rivas tops had come off, and the button was floating around somewhere and I had to carefully shove the thing back together that was quite depressing. I had done nothing to it, and had been happily vaping on it a few minutes before. I assumed it was the one that got dropped and bent, but nope, it was the one that has not been abused. Works ok still. I figured if I could get a little thing that fitted one of those big power 18650 batteries in, I could hook it up and forget about it for a day or two.
