The whitw paint on my Riva batteries is coming off in places, revealing the metal. I quite like it and am wondering if there's any reason I shouldn't use paint stripper or something to remove the rest, leaving me with nice silver batteries. Any thoughts?

a bit of fine wet and dry will work 1200 or a nylon scourer

Seemed to soften it a bit and it scratched off, but a job for when I'm sat bored in front of the TV I think. Will try some wet and dry sandpaper too

For those curious I managed to do it and it looks great. Softened with nail varnish remover then fine sandpaper. Kept wiping with the nail varnish remover every now and then, took about 10 mins

Instead of nail varnish remover, which contains diluted acetone, pure acetone will probably work better and quicker! Pure acetone is available at most chemists but I'd avoid Boots

I did this with my robust and scraped it off with a metal ruler. Didn't use any liquid at all.
