its not a competition and there is no rush. dont put any pressure on yourself. i was told that the first 3 months is the honeymoon period when its relatively easy to give up then the cravings really hit . not had that yet myself but i have the mindset that cigarettes do not exist for me
i'm not willing to try one to see if i still like it or not

Think we are £100 in profit compared to smoking lol and yes i to am finding excercise a whole lot easier. Had my first blast of the year on my power kites yesterday and was able to fly for an hour before needing to stop where as before it was about 20 minutes. Sent from my Galaxy Note 2

When I was off the cigs for a month, my longest period. I very rarely had any cravings, occasionally when out drinking at the pub, but my local has almost more vapers than smokers it seems so you don't feel as inclined to have a cig. It's really a social thing with me, when I'm around smokers I want to smoke, but if I'm around non-smokers or vapers I don't even think about it..
Couple of weeks ago I was stressed out and worrying about everything and I bought a pack of cigs. It just snowballed and I couldn't stop smoking. 20-30 a day I was actually smoking more than what I did previously. I've managed to cut it down to 8-10 a day and ease back into vaping. I'm just hoping I can get back to where I was.
Try and stick with it. It's so worth it. I felt great health wise and even started exercising because I could enjoy it without coughing up after every session.

Hi, I bought my first ecig (disposable) on a Friday about midday. It looked so big compared to my rollys that I waited until I got home before trying it. From then until bedtime I only smoked 5 cigs and used the ecig in between. This was a huge step down from my 40 a day habit. The following day I was back in town buying a starter kit and some extra carts. By the time the battery was charged I had already smoked about 10 but only lit another 5 once I could use the ecig. Sunday, 5cigs, Monday 3 cigs. At about 8pm on the Tuesday I lit my second cig of the day and when I was half way through it realised that I didn't need them any more. That was 8 months ago and I haven't had a smoke since.
What I'm trying to say is don't worry if you can't make the switch in one go don't worry about it. If you feel like a smoke then go ahead. Do it in your own time, it will happen if you want it to. Phil

I felt it was just a big leap of faith. One day, I took the leap (after finally believing the morning fag could "really" be replaced by vaping).....and have not looked back.

I loved to smoke Lozzy and I do mean loved . . . the stereo type Fag Ash Lil I was. 40/50 a day, £70+ a week spent on ciggies. Achievements I'm not especially proud of, but there it is. Today, it's 3 years since I last had a tobacco cigarette, something I never ever dreamt was possible. Going 3 hours without one was an achievement for me as I used to wake up several times during the night and get up for a ciggie then as well. Was it easy? No, not completely for me. Getting past that first one of the morning was the hardest habit to break, until one morning I simply woke up and didn't want one immediately. Then I knew I could break the tobacco routine and I've never looked back since. You can do it as well, just take your time and do what feels right for you.

Yeah it's more of a habit isn't it, when I'm walking to work after the train, I really crave one, just because I'm used to having it then, same when I get up in the morning and after food. Don't know whether it's just a routine that you try to break. Do you vape at these times? If so and it's just not hitting the spot try some higher nic juice for those times! As others have said though, count the ciggies you don't smoke not the ones you do

Uh-Oh sounds like I'm still in the honeymoon period. The only time I've thought about having a real cig is first thing in the morning, but I think that's mainly due to the range of juice I have in atm. I need something a bit more......savory? Voodoo at 6 am isn't totally appealing, but as there are no cigs in the house, it's fine. And by the time I'm dressed I've got past the point of wanting a real cig. Anyway, lots more juice on the way. I am sure I will find the perfect one for 6 am.

Thanks everyone, I know I'll get there, have to admit I ended up having 2.5 cigs yesterday, but was still proud that I managed 2.5 days without any! Yeah first thing is hard, I've always found that in the mornings are the worst!

Lozzy, just keep reminding yourself of all the cigarettes you haven't smoked, and I'm sure you'll find a juice with a flavour and strength you like soon. I consider myself fortunate with my giving up - I originally bought the eGo/clearo combi to cut down on fags during the day, but have only had one since, and that was foul. You'll get there I'm sure, you have admitted here that you want to, so you have the willpower and determination. It will happen and soon! Best of luck Andy
