Hi all, Ordered the 901 starter kit extra from oksmokey on Friday night & it arrived today - am well impressed with the service BIL however has now decided to wait for his 'Smoking Matters' appointment before committing himself. > Him & me are going to fall out VERY shortly However, no probs - I've decided to have a go! I smoke between 3 - 4 packets of Silk Cut a week, I'm confused about how much of the juice to use. I understand about using a higher strength than needed & diluting it with the glycerine & distilled water, but is there a way of working out how much of each to use, please? I boobed because I had it in my head that BIL would need a medium, so ordered the high - obviously, this is way too potent for me so what can I do to downscale it for me, please? Do I mix the juice with the glycerine + water prior to filling the cartridge? How wet should it be? Once the cart has run out, can it be refilled in any flavour or do I only use 1 flavour per cart? If I go out for the day etc, do I just take my ecig, a spare charged battery and atomiser & some filled carts along with me to swap over if needed? Then refill used carts & recharge the battery when I get home? Is it really that simple or am I missing something here?? You experts must have the patience of a saint & for that, I'm really, REALLY grateful - thank you These questions must seem so ridiculously obvious to those who in the know but I'm still baffled by the whole thing. I need answers in words of one syllable, please I'm quite looking forward to having a go now - if BIL changes his mind, then tough Thank you - I'll go back to my room at the 'Home for the Terminally Bewildered' now ....................

I'm confused about how much of the juice to use.Don't worry, just experiment. If only you had a squeezy bottle (or even a glass one with a dropper) spare it would be so easy - pop off the nozzle and drip to the quarter level your nic juice, then top up with VG to the half-way mark. Shake well (with the nozzle and cap back on!) and test it out. Then you've got room in the bottle for fine adjustments. Distilled water is optional, it does thin down the vape for those who find VG too thick on its own. If your carts are already filled, you could try vaping them drier, just don't inhale too often When they get dry, drip 2-3 drops of VG on top of the stuffing and squidge it up and down with tweezers or a straightened paperclip, or something. OR, you could squeeze some juice out of the stuffing with rubber gloves on, and pop it back in and drip some VG on and squidge Just see how you get on, and don't worry. The worst you will do is make yourself a bit dizzy it you drag too much too deep too often. That's all for the mo because my netbook is seizing up ??? scylla

I would really recommend decanting a little of the full strength into a small dropper bottle and then experimenting by adding glycerin and water a little at a time until you get the strength and consistency you want. I've never tried it but don't dilute the full size bottle in case you spoil it. I'm sure there are some adventurous people here who can point you in the right direction. When I first started I used 18 strength but found that too weak for me so changed to 24 which was perfect. I use 18 strength OKSmokey 'Tobacco' carts and top them up with one of my 24 juices, either liquorish, mint, menthol or aniseed as they blend in nicely with the tobacco flavour. You can remove the filler from the cart, rinse it under the tap until clean, blot it dry with some absorbant tissue (kitchen roll) and then refill the carts with whatever juice you like. There are several instructional videos on You Tube that demonstrate this. The 901 carts take 8 drops into the empty cart, put the clean, dry filler carefully back in, press it down to just below the top of the cart and add two or three drops. Take a pin and gently lift the filler so that it is level with the top of the cart, wipe off any dribbles and place into the atomizer. The atomizer holds quite a bit of excess liquid so before refilling with a new flavour, it's a good idea to blow it through (from the battery end, like blowing a whistle) into the tissue but do wipe the atty before putting it to your lips. Hope this helps. Fox PS: Scylla posted while I was fumbling about!!

I should have mentioned earlier that you'll need a pair of tweezers for removing and replacing the filler, the lift in one piece rather than getting tatty bits sticking up (if you do see any strands sticking out at the top of the cart, just snip them off with some scissors). Another 'tool' I find useful is a pin, preferably with a coloured bobble on the end so it doesn't get lost. This is useful for poking around in the filler to make sure the juice gets right to the bottom when topping off. When you go out, a small safety pin is useful as you can pin it somewhere about your person. Pins are also useful when using the two part carts as they will fit in the small round hole to push up the inner cart for topping off. Fox

Another thing thats useful is the straw mod, i've done it and it helps get the juice down into the filler without the squishing up and down just use the plastic 'straw' part of a cotton ear bud, cut a bit roughly the depth of the cart, make sure it's level with the top or just under, you don't want it to touch the 'wooly' part of the attie, just stick it down the side of the filling (you might need to pull the filling back up to the right level with tweezers while keeping your finger on the straw to keep it in place
