Got the idea from gavincol78 who found that he could use an o-ring from an AGA T2 to fix the problem with the locking ring coming off the top of the thread & also shorten the throw of the button. I didn't have the problem with the locking ring but I was curious about shortening the button throw a bit. If, like me, you don't have an AGA T2, you can use the o-ring from an "Anti Vibration Hard Drive Screw" (I had loads left over from a PC I built for a friend) available here : www.maplin.co.uk/hard-drive-screws-with-anti-vibration-washer-98844each of the screws has a tiny flexible rubber o-ring around it which just so happens to be the perfect size for the DS Mod button assembly. It's a bit fiddly but you can tuck 1 side of it under the disk on the end of the button post, hold it in place, then stretch the rest of it over. Button without o-ring. Button with o-ring.

I can't believe I had an O-ring that small.... Brilliant find! Throw is about .75mm...almost touch sensitive...Still a bit too stiff though. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ gavincol78...thank you for sharing the original idea..
Thanks Have fun I

Glad I shared my idea for me I used the idea as my lock screw kept coming off the threads when locking the switch little did I know that it would also assist with the throw, it had turned my cracking mod into my everyday mod

This is an awesome tip - definitely worth hunting around for a little o-ring!
I do still find the switch a bit stiff, has anyone managed to dismantle it to get access to the spring?
