Hello! :) new and really need some help!

Hi everyone, My other half and i quit the ciggys and started vaping 3 weeks ago. We bought these kits as the shop is very local to us.

Now the hubby is a 100% happy vaping away on gold & silver juice, and not missing the fags at all...YAY! Im struggling a little, i just dont seem to be able to find a liquid/flavour i really like, the best ive found so far is pineapple (from coolvapes) mixed with a little menthol. Im just not sure if its the kit im not happy with or the liquids (ive bought loads btw!! lol ) Sometimes it tastes vile (plasticy yuk!) and then the next pull its fine!  ???. Also sometime its feels like ive got to pull really hard to get a proper drag, think i must be doing something wrong.  Ive bought new Clearo's (from coolvapes) but im still having issues, last night i vaped B&H with a little menthol and it was perfect, done the same today and its horrid! what the blooming eck am i doing wrong?? 

Ive been reading on here lots but im finding it all little confusing, id like to try a different kit but i have no idea what to look for.

Any advice on ANYTHING would be most welcome!

Hi and welcome yorkshirelass. MMMMMmm sounds like a problem with the clearo. Would say have you cleaned it but you say you have tried a new one with the same problems. Only thing i can suggest is just giving everything a good clean, soak in vodka or denture tablets overnight, rinse off, leave to dry and try again or a good clean out with warm water, again leave to dry and try again. The clearos not the battery. Also a good clean of the battery pin might help.

As for pulling hard i am guessing you have tightened the clearo down to far on the battery, just loosen it off a touch. On that note might be worth trying to lift the pin a bit on the battery

The kit you have bought looks like a rebranded ego - not a bad kit at all, though you paid a bit over the top for it.

Re the taste, it could just be your taste buds playing up.

I shall give the clearo's a good clean and see how that goes, roscopetrain are the kits you've linked not the same as what i already have? As for the taste, yep i does taste abit burnt.

Chrissie You may have a point it could be just me, yep i know we over paid, however its local and the shop is route to the paper shop, so i bought the EROS kits instead of the fags! so tho pricey its obviously better that the alternative .

I can't vape any flavour for more than half a day so I have several different flavours in a clearo and when it starts to taste funny I change to a different clearo. I'm 3 weeks in and I think it's just my taste buds changing, I've also regained my sense of smell which is starting to make everything taste more too.

That looks like a pretty good kit to me. I think CE4s are reasonably well respected. I don't use them myself - I use vivi novas and mini novas, which are probably a little better, but not dramatically so.

It sounds to me as if you are sometimes burning the juice. That will happen if you drag too long and hard. It tastes foul and also leaves a bit of a deposit on the clearo, which will eventually spoil the taste of it altogether and make it hard to get a decent draw.

It can also happen if the wick gets dry - obviously don't let the clearo get empty, but also in some clearos the wick will dry out a bit if you leave it standing for a while, and it needs a couple of waves and a moment or two to soak the juice in.

You may need to wash the clearos more often. Are you dry-burning?

And you may need to buy new heads more often. Or rewick them if you or your OH are into that sort of thing (I suspect it is harder on a CE4 than it is on my novas).

You could get a variable voltage battery - an ego twist or a spinner is like your ego but with a base that you can turn to give you more or less voltage, and lower voltage gives you reduced taste and vapour but less likely to burn the juice when you draw. But If you take note of how long and hard you draw then you'll get better at doing it without risking the burn.

What ratio liquid are you using?

I think what you are experiencing is the clearo now wicking very well and thus burning. Def try and lift the pin as it maybe a connection issue and it does not always fire. Other than either a new head or new clearo i am not sure what else to suggest. Hopefully somebody with more knowledge will be able to help.

Yes essentially they are the same but the batteries are bigger so will last a lot longer and the vape esape kit comes with cartomisers to try as well as clearos.

Were you looking to upgrade at the same time with the new kit?

I personally don't like ce4 clearos and found amini vivi nova was a huge improvement and so was an evod, both are easy to fill and vape great.

I would try a different clearo first and if you're still not happy then go for an upgrade. Maybe a twist or spinner but I went for a vamo and I'm really happy I did.

I'm pretty sure that the batteries you have are rebranded Egos so will have a 510/ego threading so will be fine with the Mini Nova

I always pretend i am harry potter waving a wand about and that gets the juice up round the wicks to keep them wet.
