What's your opinion on this mod guys? Looking to upgrade from the rok star for sometime now and like the look of this, what more would I need to buy to have a fully working device? I like the dream rebuildable atty, I think more so for the ease of the repair side of things, would this be suitable for on top of the zmax? Opinions and views would be much appreciated. Thanks Duke. www.acevapers.com/zmax-v2-advanced/smoktech-zmax-v2/

duke Think I'd be more tempted to go for the flat head version of this, any atty looks better on a flat head mod IMO www.shopecigarette.co.uk/advanced-electronic-cigarette-kits/devices/zmax-v3-sigeleiVV & VW, Telescopic so you can use a full range of batteries, 18350 (ignore the info telling you you can stack 2 18350's (never stack batteries), 18500 or 18650's but check the physical size of the batteries as some of the larger mah 18650's might be too long, I'd stick to a max of 18.4mm wide & around 65mm long. Cos it's an electronic mod you won't need protected batteries. This guy has a full range of batteries & gives the sizes, plus he really knows his stuff. www.ebay.co.uk/sch/big_f_d_d/m.html?item=290907421441&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2562 he's also known as torchythebatteryboy over on UKV & is a registered vendor, you can also buy his batteries cheaper direct from him & when you check his prices it's for a pair of batteries. Personnally I'd go for the Efest or Torchy 18350's, Sanyo or Efest 18500's & the Panasonic 18650's CGR or NCR (grey or green in colour) You'll also need a decent charger preferably Xtar or Nitecore which Torchy also sells. Jason at Vapeescape also does the same chargers & has a full range of Efest batteries & don't forget the dissie code for 10% off, also ukecigcabin with a 5% discount. Happy shopping Oops forgot to mention if your going to use 18350's & you get the Xtar charger buy an extra pair of spacers, you need 2 to charge the 18350's so if you lose one your bugga'd . . don't need spacers with nitecore.

There is the original SMOK Z-Max and the Sigelei Z-Max which is a bit fatter and has a OLED screen. The SMOK tapers to a width that is about the same as a mini Nova - the Dream is a bit fatter (it has the same size tank as the full size Vivi Nova). They both do exactly the same things and both are good, so it depends to some extent on what you like the look of and the price you can get it at There is also now a mini version of the SMOK that has extension tubes to fit a range of batteries: www.timeeast.net/smok-zmax-mini-vvvw-mod-newest-p-636.html

Thanks madcats/ dave.
Can I put it to you both, if you were me!!!!!....and fancied the zmax, what would YOU buy? I mean the whole list of bits and pieces, batts, charger, rebuildable atomiser, wire, wick etc. AND there's no limit on your budget.

Duke Right OK, first of all I have the sigelie Zmax which is as near as dammit as can be to your first link & it's ace, & I was more then happy with it till a group buy for a Telescopic Zmax came along. So the prospect of being able to use all common 18*** sizes of batteries without having to change tubes turned my head, I already had the 18350's & 18650's, the 18350's are great for a stealth mod but just don't last long enough for me, & in 18650 mode looks like I'm carrying stu's lightsabre allaboute-cigarettes.proboards.com/thread/23166/lightsaber so the ability to compromise & use 18500's seemed like a good idea. As it turned out we didn't get the numbers for the sigelei tzmax I linked you to, & instead got the EHPRO TSZmax that Colliwobbles linked to. Great mod & I'm loving it, but the only downside is it doesn't have any ego threads on the outside of the connector, not a deal breaker for me as I only use RBA's, Aga-T mainly, Cobra & Killer so don't need the Ego threads but would be nice to have them just in case. So if push came to shove for the same price I would go for the flat head TS Zmax in my link. Battery wise I would go for a pair of each size then all bases covered, you might think you'er never going to use it in mini 18350 mode, but you never know . . & don't forget don't waste your money on protected batteries with an electronic mod, just buy the largest mah rating that will physically fit in your mod. Charger wise I have the Xtar WP2II which is a great. The one thing you should never do is get complacent with lithium batteries, both the Xtar & Nitecore are classed as intelligent chargers . . so they won't over charge or just as importantly charge a battery which has been over discharged, both things which can damage the internal chemistry of a lithium battery causing it to become unstable, it will also protect if you put batteries in the wrong way round, which with flat top batteries is easier then you imagine . . . but with hindsight, with 2 of us vaping in my house, both using mods I would go for the Nitecore 4 bay charger. Same level of protection, plus you don't need spacers for 18350's, I guess even if it was only for one person if I had my time over I'd chose a Nitecore just for the no spacer aspect. Atty wise I'm happy with what I've got, but in a test buy on here for the original Dream it got rave reviews from pretty much all who bought it. It was only the fact that the original was plated & that plating started to erode that let it down, obviously now there's a SS version that's not a problem. allaboute-cigarettes.proboards.com/thread/16971/dream-group-atomiser-techie-talk?page=1I'm a huge fan of SS wicks, but I have got 2 Aga-ts set up with silica, & a killer which is silica. Re the silica wick I've got the standard wick from cig-eliquid, which is I think 3 strands just twisted, & the ekowool from ecigwizard which is more of a braid & seems to be slightly thicker . . . so 1mm is more like 1.5 & 2mm is more like 3. Both are fine & do the job. Standard can be a faff if your not used to rewicking cos it can fluff quite badly if you're fiddling with the coil you've wound on it, ekowool not so much but you do need razor sharp scissors to cut it cos it fray's out quite badly on the ends. Wire I buy from Deesigner on here allaboute-cigarettes.proboards.com/thread/16162/2mm-kanthal-236-res-allShe sells at cost & you can buy as much as you want with great customer service. For RBA's I tend to stick to 0.2 Kanthal, but I don't think there's a lot in it between kanthal & nichrome. I think the kanthal runs a little hotter (lower ohms) but there really isn't a huge difference. That's pretty much my waffle, haven't got a Dream cos I like atty's with glass tanks, but that's my personal preference cos of the juice I use, but I might take a punt in the future who knows. Good luck with whatever you choose I'm sure you won't be disappointed.

Well I'm currently verrrry happy with this: Which is the Sigelei Zmax telescopic with a Kayfun 3.1ES atty. The Zmax is very good IMHO and the Kayfun is giving me the bestest flavour I have had since I started vaping (well direct dripping is good too!). However, good though that combination is, I had an unexpected and fabulous present from my better half to celebrate 3 months of non-smoking - the wonderful darling lady bought me a Provari! They're rather good..... So if you're budget is unlimited

Duke Well, if it was me and money was no object I'd either get the Provari, or if I was feeling patient, one of these: www.cloud9vaping.co.uk/epages/yxve46fvrnud.sf/en_GB/?ObjectPath=/Shops/yxve46fvrnud/Products/SM-SVR-BASEFor a lot less - any of the versions of the ZMax mentioned above would be fine, depending on what you like the look of, if you like telescopic mods etc. Just to throw another one in the mix though I would now be strongly tempted by this one: www.ukecigcabin.com/product/smoktech-sid-vv-mod-batteryFor a charger I would get a Pila, or for a lower price the Nitecore or the Xtar are both decent chargers. Batteries - AW, Panasonic, Efest or Sanyo IMR's are all good I'd get a selection of several different wires and wicks and see what you like best! We all wait with bated breath to see what you decide on!

Duke, the difference in the ProV and the Zmax is the Zmax has VW, set and forget.....where as the Provari is only VV. The SMOK ZMax has a cheaper designed screen, where the Sigelie ZMax has the nicer more detailed OLED screen.
I have a ProV mini (v2) that I love (decked out with hippo top cap and twins from Atmistique, custom "Spider" bottom cap, and a carbon fiber JWrap). It's the most reliable device I have owned. I can't justify spending $200 on an atty alone, so it has a Term-C in short mode on top, or a spheroid.
I just recently bought the V3 Sigelie Zmax (telescic version) after talking with a few friends that have one (both Sigelie and SMOK versions) and love them. All of them were Provari owners, and still have their ProVs, but ally like the VV/VW options of the ZMax.
