Hello everyone and warm greetings from Nottingham.

I posted on the Hello & Welcome thread, then Chrissie quite reasonably suggested starting a thread of my own. Here it is, and here's the story so far.

I've been vaping for a couple of months now. I tried other forums but this one looks a lot more friendly. On another UK vapers forum I was virtually ignored in the chat because I did not use a shiny £89 brass-plated "mizer", vape 8 ml a day and spend £50 a week on new flavours!
In fact I have a straightforward eGo-T kit, vape about 1 ml a day and buy new flavours maybe once a month. I think that's perfectly reasonable... and probably more typical too.

The eGo-T kit was not actually my first vaping experience. I have smoked small cigars for a long time. It was getting expensive, and I was also getting a little anxious about the possible health risks from the carcinogens in them. I did as much research as I could, wading through endless posts and countless conflicting opinions. Almost everyone agreed that the sort of e-cig sold over supermarket pharmacy counters was not the best introduction to vaping. So to start with I got a CE5 kit. Well, it was sold as a CE5 but it seems to have CE4 internals with wicks. I shan't name the supplier, as it was reasonably priced for a kit with two complete battery+vapouriser sticks, a USB charger and a (admittedly rather poor) 5ml sample of tobacco eJuice.

I bought several eJuice flavours, all 18mg strength, and used the CE5s for a few weeks. They did not draw well - it was hard to suck air through them unless the tops were unscrewed from the batteries quite a bit. So I got a kit which the supplier called AMEGO. In fact it contained two complete eGo-T units, spare tanks, a USB charger and a mains charger. The mains charger was not even supposed to be included, so that made me smile.

The eGo-T units are a little thinner on flavour than the CE5s, but they are a lot less faffing about. No wicks to clean and replace, no fussy cleaning, they just work. I do clean them from time to time, but they need a lot less attention than a CE5.

When I first started vaping I was smoking one cigar a day. Then it dropped to about one every 5 days. Now I haven't smoked tobacco for about two weeks. I do miss them, mainly because they are... well... smoky! That's about all. If I could find an eJuice that really was smoky, not just the taste of steeped tobacco leaves, then I would be delighted.

It has been a while since I bought some eJuice. I have finally placed another order, this time for some base liquids and flavours to mix my own stuff. I'm trying a different supplier this time. The first one was ok, but had a limited range and all the affordable (to me) ones were blended in China. Frankly I am not totally convinced that UK/European ingredients will be better, but I'll find out soon enough.

As for your kit dont worry about others whatever works for you is good enough its all about trying to improve your health that counts really.

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome. I got a lot of flavours to try from eXhale, they are re-branded Chinese juices. Most are fine, one or two are terrible.

Likes: Menthol (excellent, and the first thing I ever vaped), Coffee, Cherry, Orange, Mango (yes, Mango!).
Dislikes: Cappucino (like exhaling sick through your nose!), Licorice (zero flavour - returned to supplier and credited - thanks eXhale)
In the Middle: Cigar (it's a nice tobacco flavour, but there's no cigar in it), Vanilla (In my CE5 it is like smoking a piece of home-made cake)

I ordered my base liquids and some flavours from LT eCigs. They should arrive at the end of the week. I'll give them a go and report back.

By the way, I think I may have to avoid vaping late in the evening, it could be affecting my sleep. I might try and mix some zero-nic eJuice for the evenings.
