New purchase - Vamo?

Hi everyone

So, I've been vaping for a week now, and I'm feeling better already!

Anyway, I've been reading all of the threads regarding the variable wattage devices that are available, and have come to the conclusion that the Vamo is the one to go for? 

Is this a good choice?

I'm still going to be using my Riva batteries along with either an EVO-d or iClear 16 for when I go on short fishing sessions, but for "everyday use", I want something that gives me a little more control over my vaping.. 

My only concern is why they sell replacement battery springs and battery caps?

If the Vamo is indeed the best choice, am I likely to find a better price than $74.92 (£49.22) for the following?

Extra batteries may be overkill, but I don't want to be without it due to a dead battery!!

I went for the vamo and love it, seriously considering getting a second one as a back up just incase, only had it for 2 months but I can say its a huge improvement on my last ego type ecig.

I would recommend iclear30 tank for it too as I love them but dont see much hype on them here but evods work great with an adaptor (less than 2 quid from vendors listed on here)

From what I've read on here - fasttech is the place to go for a great price on a vamo.

Also wanted to add that it's a bit weighty especially with the bigger battery but I prefer it in this mode as it leaves the button in the perfect position. A solid piece of kit for the price.

I personally would not use the batteries and definatly not use the charger that is bundled with the vamo

also a few people have had issues with the vivi novas from fasttech....with that in mind

this is what I would do

spend the extra £2 and get the i4 USD19.89 (might as well for the £2 more it costs...you will soon own more than 2 batteries ) www.fasttech.com/products/1421/10001638/1292100

and finally ditch the chrome vamo and get a stainless steel one from here (the price I have quoted will not show up till you have created an account there)

So for the 3 items above its $10 cheaper than your list and all 3 items are better.....ok you have lost a dodgy charger and some questionable vivi novas...but with the saving you can buy another tank.

I agree with teeks about the vamo - the chrome is reported to come off, so get SS. I also got mine from vaporbreak. I wouldn't worry too much about the cap - most seem to be fine as supplied.

I have a 2-bay Intellicharger, which I think is plenty. I used a single bay for a long time, and only got another charger because I thought I needed a back up.

I use mine mostly in short mode, but I'd get 18650s as well because the 18350s don't last long.

I wouldn't use stacked batteries whatever it says in the manual.

I got all three of my Vamos from Vapourbreak and have no issues with any of them, I have been using my chrome one for 6 months now and it still looks good. If you read my post on the Fasttech thread you will see what I think of their novas and I certainly agree get a decent charger from a reliable UK vendor I also have a couple of Torchy's batteries and they are good. I agree. I have a vamo, nitecore i4 charger and some torchy batteries and it all works a treat.

As for the chrome, i have a black chrome one and my rings have taken a lot of the black chrome off on my work vamo. SS is the way to go i think.

i have spent quite a bit on mods now of all sorts and still find that if things play up it is always the vamo i turn to for no messing vaping that gives the same great results every time, the only negative is the size and weight but for everything it does electronically i think if it was smaller you would probably run into problems with consistency of results and deffinately a price increase.
wherever you get it and however much you pay you will not be dissapointed and i can also second the iclear30 for great results on the vamo however were it produces so much vapour it does eat through juice, also be aware that by upping the amount of vapour you produce your upping the amount of nicotine you intake so may be time for a nicotine level drop if you still want to vape a lot.

I thought I should add;

I have 6 of those ICR18350's and they're fine, I would not stack them but using the on their own has been fine, they all still hold their charge well. This is my experience.

I do however have a good charger the WP Xtrar II.

Has anyone actually ordered a Vamo from Fasttech that can confirm whether it is the SS or chrome version please?

I only ask as there comments on the website which say that they are the SS versions?

I've just costed up getting the Vamo from VapourBreak, as well as getting batteries and charger from Ebay, and this is how it works out..

Vamo £23 ($35)
18350 torchy batts £8
18650 torchy batts £11
4 bay charger £25

total of £67!!!

Assuming that the Vamos is indeed Stainless, is it really worth the extra £16 to get the torchy batteries over the greys and panas?

The problem is that there are rip-off copies of batteries (chinese intellichargers seem to be OK). Two things wrong with rip-offs - firstly they are likely to have a much shorter life, and secondly a small percentage of Li-ion batteries explode, and that percentage is going to be larger with the rip-offs.

I never heard of batteries exploding while being vaped unless they were stacked. I have heard of batteries (unstacked) exploding while being charged, and it doesn't seem to be because of the charger.

I have a couple of grey 18350s - I wasn't expecting to use it much in short mode, and bought them to test it. They seem to work OK, but I wouldn't leave them charging where I wasn't and I don't yet know how long they'll last. When I decided I preferred short mode I got a couple more from Torchy.

You could, maybe should in any case, get a charging bag www.vapeescape.co.uk/efest-safe-charging-bag~471, which reduces that problem, but there is still the question of battery life.

I have bought Panasonic batts a few times from fasttech and none of them have been copies....this is also true of the intellicharger from them (as for the comment about chinese intellichargers...hehe all intellichargers are made in china by sysmax), ok there might be fake ones about but the fasttech ones are the real deal. as to whether the vamo is SS I do not know.

I've had 3 Vamo's up to now and only one is left working the first one the screen died on me, the second had the treads go on me, and just keeping the third one just to test the ohms of my atty's on. I would recommend a cheap Lavatube, I have got two of these, and only paid a tenner each for them, good vv voltage and last for ever threads.
