Saw that on Sky News yesterday.
What really angered me, was the number of young, fit males who stood back and did nothing to help the poor woman. I guess chivalry is dead!
Pleased the thief got what he deserved though.

I don't care whether it was "only" a phone. A phone tomorrow will become a handbag, then maybe some ones house.
I didn't say he should be dead ! I just hope his cuts and bruises teach him a lesson but I doubt it.

The guy got off lightly, it still won't teach him but it might teach him to check the bus time table.  The poor woman tried to help as well. He will recover from this but the woman will be traumatised for years to come. The injustice of it. |

I agree he deserved a slap but I'm always told to look at both sides. For all we know he could have been a drug addict, had a story, a reason. I don't believe that anyone should be hurt, and I don't think anyone has the right to decide to what degree.
'twas a funny video tho. I'm just glad everyone was safe and well afterwards.

These things can affect you for years. When we lived in Sydney. OH and I lived in a first floor apartment. Late one night we went to our bedroom to get ready for bed. The dog started grumbling. OH walked over to the wardrobe and glanced down towards our lounge. A man had climbed over our balcony and was in the middle of helping himself to my laptop and handbag. OH ran towards him, grabbed a knife from kitchen and tried to catch him but was too slow and the man lept over the balcony.
This happened 7yrs ago. To this day, if I hear so much as a pin drop at night I start trembling. Once or twice it has triggered a panic attack. I don't scare easily, but that man has affected me terribly to this day.

izan Look I am not getting into a argument here, I agree there's two sides of a story but that woman could of been pregnant or something, whatever difficulties one may have it does not give a right to mug someone. Yes the guy was lucky and he would think the same as that bus could of killed him. I am on the breadline struggling to survive and I have never thought of mugging someone. The guy might have been on drugs but that is questionable as we don't know the full facts but still doesn't give a right to do what he did. Cousins of mine are addicts and would probably say the same. I don't see where your coming from. This is a friendly forum. I don't see why I am defending myself. Think about the victim not the villian. Instead of jumping on my view why don't you post your views of the story Peace man

I agree he got off lucky. That woman was minding her own business and he attacked her and tried to steal her stuff. He deserved a lot more than what he got, if he hadn't tried to steal her phone everyone would have gone on their merry way. I've got to be honest, I even chuckle when car thieves crash and injure themselves or burglars get bitten by dogs... I'm a huge believer in Karma (no not you Karma)  |
