I think I may have.  Punched another carto and letting it sit soaking for a while in the condom.

You can put the carto in the tank and fill the tank straight away, then let it sit for a while. Don't overfill the carto before you put it in the tank as this can cause flooding. I find 10-15 drops of juice in the carto, put it in the tank, fill the tank and leave alone works best

Oh and don't fill the tank right up to the top. This can create too much of a vacuum in the tank and will stop juice feeding into the carto

You will get liquid gurgling in the carto and less vapour. Just take the tank off, put a tissue under the 510 connector, and blow gently a few times down the drip tip. This will blow out the excess liquid and you should be good to go.

Ah got you. When I'd finished soaking the carto in the condom, I did blow from the top to clear the juice that was sitting at the top.

Have now assembled it into the X8, filled with juice (not full, about 2ml) and now I'll leave it for an hour or so before trying it, just to be on the safe side!

Update - new carto, no burnt taste. Using it with Hangsen strawberry. So far, vapour is great but flavour is quite muted. Can barely taste the strawberry compared to my CE5 but hoping that improves over time.

The flavour will improve, cartos aren't to tasteful at first!

The other thing I do with a new carto in a tank is start off on a very low power and gradually increase. It can also be a good thing to occasionally take a draw without putting power through it to force juice into the carto to keep it nice and wet!

Thanks, will try doing that. This is the last of the strawberry but I've got some other nice juices steeped for over 2 weeks that I'm going to use next. They smell like they've got a lot more flavour than the Hangsen so switching to them combined with 'breaking in' the carto, I'm hoping for good results

Another daft question!
When the tank is empty, there's still going to be a carto full of juice. Is it best to refill the tank as soon as the level is at the punched hole or is it worth tooting a bit longer to get some liquid out of the carto before switching flavours?

I don't switch flavours in Carto Tanks

I see them as a commitment and only use them for juices that I know I really like

Been vaping on and off for the last three or four hours now and the flavour is slightly improved. I'm not sure whether the coolness of the drip tip is for me though.

Any recommendations? Want it to be a good snug fit in the carto and look OK with the X8.
