Vamo + X8 problems

I got my 18350 batteries today, so decided to hook it up with my X8 and supplied carto as I've not got the carto punch for my Boges yet.

Set to No2 and tried at 5W then up to 6W.

I think I primed the carto correctly but something quite nasty is going on.

When I press the button, I get a loud rattlesnake type of noise and tiny amounts of vapour.  I took the drip tip off, fired it again a few times and hot juice spits out of the drip tip hole.  Also the tank gets very warm.

Argh!! What am I doing wrong?

I bought one of these tanks and ditched the carto that came with it, I couldn't get a draw out of it ???

I've yet to try it with another carto!

Some cartos that come with tanks are known to be crap.

Thanks Karma. Hopefully my carto punch will arrive tomorrow so will give it another try with the boge.

I've just tried the Vamo with my CE5 and getting loads of vapour so I think the Vamo is OK.

Sounds like the carto is crap give a go when u get some better ones.

when you get your cartos and punch, take the condom ends off the carto then put the long one over the top of the carto as far as it will go, then pop the carto into the punch, the condom end should stop it going right through and it should be in the perfect position to punch your hole

Do not punch too deeply! as soon as you feel it give, unscrew

Thanks I watched a video of carto punching and it mentioned turning until the 'pop' and half a turn more.

Anothing thing, with the CE5 on the Vamo, I'm getting plenty of vapour but the flavour seems to be very muted.  Is that normal?

-edit I think I was just getting dry hits with the CE5.  Too much tootin'!

OK I've got my carto punch and punched and primed my first SR boge with some strawberry juice and slowly filled the tank.

Plenty of vapour but I'm getting a burnt (sort of rubbery) taste even at 6W. Is it normal for a carto upon first use.

I always leave the filled carto and tank to stand for 20mins before the first vape. I only get a burnt taste if I forget, or once when the carto was a dud.

I always leave the filled carto and tank to stand for 20mins before the first vape. I only get a burnt taste if I forget, or once when the carto was a dud.

Thanks  I think that may have been the problem as I only left it for a couple of minutes.  Will try again and let you know how I get on.

If you have burnt the filler you may have to start over again

I think I may have.  Punched another carto and letting it sit soaking for a while in the condom.
