I received a used UDT-L in the post today and wondered if I could make it into an 18500 mod with my Vamo 18650 extention tube.....the answer was yes and it fits on like it was made for it!! I also swapped the spring out for a Silver Bullet hot spring. So, there you go, nice easy mod that enables you to make use of your 18500's in your UDT-L

And now the 510 threads are knackered. I've only screwed a 510-eGo adapter into it a couple of times and now it just slips in and out, there's no bite at all, I tried a carto which is the same and so is my Igo-L, won't take anything at all now Is there any way I can fix it?

Is this with the UDT head? I had this problem from the get go with my first one and sent it back for a replacement.

I could get one or two Novas to stick but the majority would not bite on the threading. Keef sorted it without an issue.

Hi Simon.
I Had same problem, used a Stainless Steel Ego-510 adapter (Provari). Better threads than standard chrome/brass unit.(Larger diameter at max thread size, so cut new thread into UDT`s connector.)
Got mine from:http://**************/provari-ego-adapter
Solved my faulty UDT-L head threads connection.

Wrap your adapter's threads in a PTFE tape or a tin foil if you get connectivity issues

I had the same problem with the 510 thread on two of these mods. the metal is ridiculously poor and it gives way very easily. Drill it out and replace it with a new adapter. I'd recommend replacing the switch while you're at it as that's crap too J

I drilled out the head and fitted a brand new 510 connector. Buggered the switch though while soldering (a tab broke off) so I'm looking at replacement switches now as well.

The switch I replaced it wit is much the same as the one that was on it. I'm still on the lookout too for a better switch that will fit. I have a few spares if you want one.. The switch itself slides into a little carrier "sled" that holds it all in place and is easy enough to replace. I've trawled a few sites but can't find a decent switch that will fit in that hole unless it's drilled out wich is something I might try at a later date
